Android os updates are always going to be a failure unless Google Ford something drastic. I'm a oneplus one user. Marshmellow was out on my nexus 7 coming to what 6 months ago now? By the time all flagships smartphones get it it will be 1 year old.

You cannot blame Google for this problem. This all lies on the carriers here in the US. Look how long it takes for AT&T and Verizon to push their updates. It's almost as if they only want Apple to succeed in the US

It is his choice to use the OS which suits his needs. Others don't have any right to dictate what OS/device people should be using, isn't it?

Android OS distribution is comparable to PC world actually. Can you look into the % of devices running Windows XP, 7, 8.1, 10 etc. The distribution will be similar.

People need functional devices, not the devices Buggy/Latest software. As long as your win xp device works for your needs, why should you bother about upgrading to win 7, leave alone win 10?

Google got it right with Marshmallow (didn't like Lollipop).
The Galaxy S6 is a LOT faster when updated to Android 6.0.

Anonymous, 04 May 2016what feature in MM are you dying to use? Even having Android M does not cut it anymore. It is all about the monthly security update.

Google has posted May security update, and they already notified OEMs 1 month ago in April about the update.

Despite the drawbacks, I am glad that my OnePlus One is fully patched with May security update

If people expect updated OS for their computers, why aren't people expecting the same from their smartphones?

I can buy a $300 PC, and it will get the same updates as a $1000 PC. Why is the expectation must be different for a smartphone?

Nowadays people tend to worry about update so much.. They forgot that they bought the device for its usage not its updates.. As long as the phone is fully functional then it is all good.. Updating to the latest version means nothing when that latest version is still riddled with bugs.. I still am using my xperia ray with android 4.0.4 ICS(I know lots of rom with 4.4/5.1 but have yet to try).. It still is fully functional plus it is small and easy to carry with its 3.3" retina screen.. Still no viable replacement to this day.. Sony X Micro please...?
