Opera has released version 37 of its desktop and mobile browser and it now includes a native ad-blocker.

I haven't really used Opera since it started to use Chromium engine but it looks like that now it's worth a try.

I love Opera. I just wish they brought back bookmark manager and download manager like it was in the previous versions of Opera..

But adblocks turning mainstream can lead to a bad future.. If there comes zero ads on Youtube due to all browsers having ad-blockers built in, youtubers would be paid no revenue from ads, resulting in also zero earning by Google Youtube themselves, ultimately turning Youtube into a forced-paid service.. I'm still okay with watching YT ads for 5secs and wasting data of 10 bucks rather than paying 100 bucks as subscription fees for Youtube..

Not just youtube, all websites, blogs would ceaze to zero profit, ultimately turning everything to a paid service or a biased review (reviewer paid by companies to say this and that)..

opera is faster than chrome and Firefox. you can feel it if your connection somehow gets slow. and it uses less memory compared to them. If there were more marketing effort from their part nobody will use the other two. many people just doesn't know how good it is.

So how would the bloggers and Youtubers earn now, if Adblock turns mainstream?

For sure I have Adblock on my chrome desktop browser. But I try to keep it turned off, most of the times, and only turn it on, when a website is just unreadable and filled with ads allover..

But adblock turnin mainstream is simply not a good idea. Like just think, how Gsmarena earns? Ads, ri8? Same goes for all other websites too..

The main reason why I'm not using Opera anymore is because it's using the Chromium engine - which is indeed fast, but it's very limited, and lacks a lot of features.

The main reason I use opera as my default browser on PC is for its Keyboard Shortcuts and gestures.
