First real Symbian^4 shots are here, we hold our excitement

18 July, 2010
It’s been a while since we last heard something on Symbian^4. While ^3 is yet to roll out, its successor already showed its face. The shots are taken from an emulator of the OS, but there's no wow factor yet...

Symbian never had it right, .. it was laggy in 2003 and they still haven't made much progress on better hardware available..

No more symbian for me, .. loved my n73 while everybody was complaining about it though.. =/

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2010Steve jobs has bring nothing in mobile arena rather than an... moreSorry, but iPhone was the one who set touchphones as a standard. They were the one who started the HYPE. Nokia didn't even give a sh*t about touchphones until the iPhone existed. And yes, they didn't make the first touchphone, but they made the HYPE.

Even Google's Android OS was originally a competitor of RIM, but they changed their OS into a touchphone OS right after the iPhone was released. Even when you look at GSMArena's 'Mobile Phone Evolution', it shows how touchphones became a standard right after iPhone.

And now we have the iPad. And after the iPad, even ASUS and other companies are planing to make a tablet. That beautiful touchphone in your probably didn't exist if not for Apple. I may sound 'fanboyish' to you, but this is really true. Even you know that.

Raf, 19 Jul 2010and why nokia even bothers with Symbian? it's dead OS. deve... moreIt can't be that dead, I mean, Sony Ericsson are using it in some of their devices, such as the vivaz, and they're doing pretty well.

Not all people want some fancy new OS that they have to learn, some people just want something they're comfortable with. Nokia have more sense than to flog a dead sheep, so give them a break.

Raf, 19 Jul 2010and why nokia even bothers with Symbian? it's dead OS. deve... moreDo you want nokia to become hardware manufacturer only! This does not sound for any company thats why hp acquired palm, and decided to drop windows 7 and android tablet inorder to use their own software so that they can have full control and not depending from others.

[deleted post]Yeah dude, Nokia made such a fool out of me, they said that nHD is better than VGA, oh wait, they didn't mention that....I wanted a fone that has an option to cut the fone just by holding it...hell, there's no such option in Nokia. Screw Nokia, dude. I love iPhone now. Your comments have changed my mind.

I love steve jobs, he never fools his sheep. He has brought out so many revolutionary technologies in the market...
                              1. There were no touch screens b4 iphone
                              2. Facetime is the only option in the world for video conferencing
                              3. Video recording is another option found only in iphone
                              4. Holding a fone in both hands is not a right thing
                              5. A software ios4.0.1 that can change the hardware on installing

Now that's what i call REVOLUTION. Go iphone go. Iphone rocks.

Nokia! U need to create something more groundbreaking than what Apple had created few years back.If not,it's the end of your line.Creating something similar to Apple OS or Android couldn't get u back on track cause you're living behind their shadows. If next few releases for your high-end phones still doesn't make an impact, you'll be far worse than what Motorola's have been experiencing after their Razr line.I've been a loyal Nokia user for 10 years since 1999 & I do not wish to see your brand in red.
