Microsoft ruined Nokia, now they are ruining one of the best calendar app. If microsoft release separate calendar app with all the features of sunrise calendar I might give a chance.

Microsoft should pull the plug on itself.

Everyone here is missing something ... It's not just "buy and shut down"; it's "buy, incorporate technology/ideas into own product, then shut down original".
They are shutting down Sunrise, but they are making Outlook better.

Buy and shut down. Microsoft sure seems to have lot of cash to throw away. Might as well raise the dividends to shareholders. I thought the Sunrise was really nice and was using it in parallel with Google's and Samsung's offerings. In the end I went Google calendar mostly because of Android Wear. Makes a lot of sense now.

I agree, this is typical Microsoft "if we can't have nice things, we'll just buy them and then no one can have them"

Why is any and everything that Microsoft acquires destined for a doom within a couple of years? Just wondering.

Typical Microsoft on a killing spree. :(
