everyone knows that..thats for wifi and dongles...try it for your ethernet....
this is not what we want....i have even heard that microsoft thinks that updates are too complicated for users to perform by themselves(they can't even provide resumable downloads of their windows 10..nice...)
haven't you seen enough irobot and other movies to see centralized control of updates is never a good thing(though i doubt ms or google can do it faster than apple)

I don't even allow my apps in the Play store to update automatically lol I understand why they're doing this but with Android it should always be about controlling every aspect of your phone including system updates.

Ya..! I agree, automatic updates is completely a bad idea... User must have the right to choose which app they want to update.. Google must think about the user opinions.. And in India it's a complete failure...

if there is no way to control automatic updates it will be a failure than windows 10. Google should know who is their audience.

What ?! No way... Don't force us to update. Also what if that person has a limited data lol. Please Google think about it, not everybody has Unlimited Data and faster connections plus, people often restart their phone. Please just focus on giving faster updates on every andriod phone and OPTIMIZATIONS.

The horror story of apple comming to android. People want to get verbal now , if I had a dollar for every angry iphone owner who does not want an update, being perpetually pestered with screens telling them to upgrade to a version that their friends have got and hate. Downloads have to be a choice.

Google had just one instruction to follow!
Instruction: Don't smoke it, it's expired
Google: Naah, it's cool. We can handle it, we do stuffs like this all the time.
                              (then smokes it)

Few minutes later people are getting automatic updates to beta software.(SMH slowly)

Please Google, what we want is that your updates should be synchronized to all Android phones at the same time as its released no matter the manufacturer of the phone.

A lot of people hardly ever restart their phones. So if there's an important security update, you will essentially be delaying indefinitely getting that update. People should be notified to restart their phones. Leaving them vulnerable for who knows how long seems like a step backwards from non-"seamless" updates that actually let you know there's an update. Basing when you get an update on the arbitrary moment that people happen to restart their phone makes no sense.

dro2910, 18 May 2016i think it will have this option. My only concern is in ... moreThey surely need to include that option.

And for the storage concern, this is something the manufacturers are already taking care of. I remember Moto denied an update to Moto E (1st gen) giving storage space as a reason for not getting the next version of android.
For the compatible handsets, you usually get a warning if space is limited... Had already faced this issue with Nexus 4 earlier, when it was supposed to get Android 5.0 update.
