Antennagate goes on: it is Samsung's turn to speak

23 July, 2010
The story goes on. Samsung did say something about the Antennagate but their official statement on that matter never showed up. Up until now. Here it is. It just can't get any more official and clear than that! This is a...

Dubz, 25 Jul 2010The whole things has gotten just way out of hand. Yes, Appl... moreGeez, you make it seem like there's a lot of perfect phones out there. I get it when you said that the iphone does not impress you. No device can impress everyone. But obviously, a lot of people are impressed and are happy with their iphones. And please, if Apple made a statement that they should have placed the antenna externally, it still wouldn't stop the bashing. Whatever Apple would say, you haters would always have something bad to say about it. So stop making advices as to what statements Apple should release like Apple cares. Apple's statements are for iphone users, what you non-iphone users think, especially the haters, are irrelevant.

We iphone users appreciate what Steve shared. They were singled out by the media. A lot of iphone users thought that antennagate is exclusive to the ip4 only. Now we know that it's not.

Hey guys...loyal users of the coalition composed of Samsung, LG, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC...if these fanatics of the Apple iPhone 4 want to keep on hugging their cheapshot phone, let them. It's always been a fact that iPhone phones lag behind in terms of specs, tech, and features. It's their right to stay in the muck. Let the technology speak for itself...not because Steve Jobs was too arrogant to acknowledge his corporate mistake. Remember, the more we attack these fanatics, the more they'll go defensive...same ego that the Apple CEO has, unwittingly.

The whole things has gotten just way out of hand. Yes, Apple should have said out bad maybe we shouldn't have put the antenna on the outside and fully exposed. A really easy design change could fix like, like say a thin layer of rubber, going around the phones, like the stuff those unbreakable motorollas are made out of.
The thing is that all phones do it. I've never liked the iPhone to begin with, it's never impressed me it never will. I don't like it, it's just too me it's outdated tech. The touch screen was what really set it apart here in the states. But that's not the point, all phones signal drops based on how you hold it, and the location. I work in an area where I have crap for signal, so my phone is pretty limited, I've never dropped a call though.
It's just that, this was something big. You don't put out a new device without testing it in the real world first. Not at a bar 5 miles away from where it was made either. If I did own the new iPhone4 and that was their soultion (and that happened to me) I would be furious. Because these people camped outside of stores and preordered these things, just for them to have a flaw like that.

I LOLed so hard at Samsung's ad. Cheers to Samsung for brightening up my day. =D

If you iphone fanboys are still angry over what I said before, listen first:

                        1. I'm NOT hating the iPhone, I have a 3GS 16GB and I'm loving the apps and UI of the phone everytime.

                        2. I do not hate other brands either, I still use my trusty N82 for pictures and my old Innov8 as a spare.

What I (and I bet some of the general public here) am angry about Apple about is the way they react to their AntennaGate issue. You name me ONE other professional company that condemns other brands' products to prove they are 'not wrong'. You tell me.

Sure, other phones have this issue too. BUT, does that happen in daily use? You take a good look at the pics where Apple makes the other phones' signal go down, who would hold it that way? Why hold it so tightly huh? All just to prove that they have issues too.

The reason why it all started is because during NORMAL use the signals of the iphone drops. But the others that showed the signal problems have to be hold ABnormally to get the issue.

Shame on such a professional company like Apple to do such a lame and childish thing. You better fix the issue on the white version..

But we are here to talk about something else:
Apple did a big mistake in to involve other companies! Apple is selling mountains of iphones and getting a LOT of money for that and Steve Job act as a little 8 years old boy who is crying and screaming ........"mom, mom they are biting at my apple".

                            Shame on you SJ!!!

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2010Antennagate is not common to all phones (Dropped bars yes, ... moreAntennagate, attenuation, or whatever you want to call it, they all drop bars.  Apple's antennagate does not always drop calls.  As a matter of fact, it bars do not always drop when that weak spot is gripped.  It depends on the area and strength of reception.

You haters have such malicious minds.  Apple is not pointing fingers at all.  Telling the truth is not pointing a finger at all.  What would you do when you're singled out by someone on a common imperfection?  Naturally, you would defend yourself and tell everyone that you're not the only one, and name those with the same kind of imperfections.

Who else has the capacity like samsung to produce that amount of new generation chips. Don't tell me apple produce its own chip claimed A4. That would only show how ignorant you are. Why is everybody here arguing about who has the best phones, everybody already knows Apple iPhone is the best.If you don`t like the iPhone shut your mouth and go sit in the corner over there and play with your lg`s till your hearts content, and stop trying to discourage.Did any of you iPhone hating ``dummies`` ever stop to think that a Samsung CPU is a part of every iPhone except the iPhone 4? That just goes to show you how wrong and ignorant you really are as far as cellular technology goes.If anything that Steve Jobs said in the last keynote was damning then those companies are in trouble anyway,if anything it will mean better antenna designs in all handsets. All of you iPhone hating ``dummies`,`your just future converts,All the iPhone owners just over look them ,they don't know any better.

Whole thing was to get Samsung and Nokia to listen, then burn them as they are the one with the issue, each day I'm getting videos from Apples website showing all these Phone having major problems, Apple is just letting you know, if you can't handle it, shame.

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2010This is what you non-iphone users need to realize. Apple... moreAntennagate is not common to all phones (Dropped bars yes, but dropping calls today, in 2010? Come on!) and you won't see LG pointing their finger at Motorola, Motorola pointing their finger at Nokia, Nokia pointing their finger at Samsung etc, etc. Only Apple resorts to this kind of behavior. Consequently, the response from the general public. And some more hatred, but seriously, Apple just sold a few (50 altogether?) million phones and 5 billion people nowadays use cell phones. That's 1 percent of the market. Who cares. I have to admit that even if I didn't have an opinion about iPhone, coming to GSMArena and finding 3-4 features on Apple alone on the home page causes an allergic reaction.

Anyway, glad that your phone is alright ;-)
