Anonymous, 20 May 2016I'm skeptical about super cheap windows device cos of perfo... moreIf you try to run chrome or firefox on them, they suffer. But if you use MS edge browser, it can playback even 4K youtube videos(scaled down to screen size) smoothly. While chrome/firefox feel like 5fps video. The new atom chips are optimized for average users needs(browsing, videos etc) and these devices cost far less than chromebooks. I got lenovo 100s for $203 which is almost $130 less than any chromebook available here. I have to pay 65% more to get a chromebook. Last week Asus new laptop with z8300 was for $216. There is no reason to buy a chromebook over much cheaper windows laptops.

Buy a chromebook and you can only use .. Hmmm Chrome? See, totally not worth the upgrade.

Until now that is, hope having android apps added it could be better.

I had one of the better performance netbook back then and yet web surfing was a rather horrible experience even when i replaced it with SSD and 4GB ram. Could tell it was faster running stuff locally but the CPU and GPU performance just can't make it to give a smooth experience. Quite the irony that it was a call a netbook.

I would consider getting a chromebook if it was cheaper than windows laptops. Cheapest I could find in Australia is $329. While windows laptops are constantly on sales and I can get one for $250. (Got lenovo 100s 11" for $203 few months back).
