It'd be interesting to see Xiaomi join the Exynos bus. Such that in the event these 3 Chinese companies crawl their numbers up the market share, Samsung will still be a healthy competitor to them as all 3 would pay due fees for using Samsung's chip no matter how successful in sales the 3 get

Hmm, the way things are going, other than the software (which isnt even to everyones taste), display brightness and camera quality, will be the "exclusives" to Samsung, which definetly doesnt make it stand out in the crowd... The Note better be something else and the S7 Active international :p

The above link explains Exynos 8890's overheating and throttling after 10-15 min. Also galaxy S7 comes with liquid cooling and Lg G5 doesn't come with any extra cooling (correct me if I am wrong). So why does Samsung decided to put extra cooling on Galaxy S7 when Exynos 8890 doesn't overheat and throttle and LG even HTC decided to not put any heat pipes.
Also I only suggested that video to just show you how Samsung galaxy s7 throttles after it is stressed, you may ignore Xiaomi Mi5 altogether.
But let me point out that LG g5 with 1440p screen has same 3d Score in Antutu benchmark as Mi5 with 1080p screen.

Check the source for the graphs. The s7 has a better GPU score by the second round.
I don't see why you're comparing it to the mi5 which has a 1080p screen.

It is sli... moreWhile I agree Adreno 530 may use more power compared to its counterpart, but it definitely doesn't throttle as much as Mali T880 Mp12 does. SD 820 is not power efficient but at the same time it doesn't throttle in any significant way.
There's a video on YouTube which runs Antutu Benchmark on Galaxy S7 in succession and compares the score with Xiaomi Mi5 and the result was significant throttling on Exynos Chipset mainly due to GPU.

It doesn't matt... moreThe kernel source probably won't be an issue - Samsung does release minimal kernel source for at least their flagships, which is enough for a base for a custom kernel. It's the ROM source I'm worried about - Samsung doesn't release that, and if ZUK follows suit, building custom ROMs will be much harder. Personally, I don't think they will, since they use CyanogenOS, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

If it weren't for Exynos 8890's weak throttling GPU, it would have easily been the best chipset this generation . But when paired with a 1080p display, Exynos 8890 becomes a no brainer. Hopefully Z2 will come with at least 5" Amoled screen and 3000mAh battery.
