I've been using mobile phone for 15+yrs. when i get a drop call, it's usually in a very bad signal area. I have experience bar dropped in strong signal area BUT very rarely drop call.
it's fine if you have some status issues or just want to be cool to own an iPhone. most people are paying over £1000 in 18-24mths, would you kept the phone if it had a different logo at the back? stop living in denial. it's a flawed phone and it has a flawed design... just go back to 3gs and stop defending this overpriced iTouch.
Someone i work with loves his 3gs... he get so much stick but it was all fun. he upgraded to iphone4, within 2wks he almost smashed it against the wall because of drop calls. he is going back to 3gs, it's simple as that.
3mil idi0ts (still counting) still listen to steve jobs BS.... very sad but true.. sigh......

guys dont forget, that iphone4 is remarkable piece of technology...apple give away Bumper only cuz they love their customers..I cant see myself buying an iphone after seeing that SJ conference..he was so arrogant..lol..he realy think that people r stupid and will buy any story..looks like he is not far from the truth;)

A very very cheap phone don't have reception problem. What a joke to use a 'bumper' just to make a simple call. In reality, Apple is not a phone maker, it's only copy others and it's good in marketing with many of its useless application for DUMMY.... and ignorant DUMMY using it with a lots of hot air...LOL

steve jobs saw there was an issue with the antena and he has realesed new software updates and a free case to help rectify the issues.
For all those who say he is taking low blows at other companys, toughen up, phones have had antena problems for years. The only reason this one is so big is because it is apple, and every other company wants to take them down because they are threatened of the Iphones success.

All phones display the same behavior depending on how you hold them and the signal strength where you are.
People show videos of iPhones with bars dropping, people show videos of other phones with bars dropping.
There were videos of phones with bars dropping before the iPhone 4 was even released, there were complaints about dropped calls going back to the first days of mobile phones, there are user manuals that show how to hold phones and warning stickers about holding phones correctly, long before Apple even started making phones, so what if Apple hits back with the truth, the other companies should take heed of the saying "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

It's not Apple's fault that makes this stupidity. It's all because of Steve Jobs and his crew who strikes on the other brands. I have to admit that there's no phone is perfect because it's man-made. The thing that make Apple looks bad is because Steve Jobs strikes another brand's antennagate issue without admitting the iPhone's bad antenna placement. Without that thing, I think that Apple is still a good brand with cool design and functionality.

I have to say that I have owned products from apple and while there has been lots of hype I never saw the reason why I mean the macbooks are awesome and the iPods the iPhone to a degree pretty every other company had a jumpstart over apple although apple won with multi touch the iPad is crazy love it but what the hell with the low blow tactics of using other companies due to your failure grow up Jobs HTC , Motorola and the rest of companies didn't make the iPhone 4 you did so man up and stop the rubbish take your blame and move on

Apple is in very bad predicament. They can't afford to re-design iphone4, at least on the external surface. If they do, it's tantamount to explicitly admitting the phones' defects. And just imagine the lawsuits, possibly massive recall, effects on stocks prices, the list goes on.
That's why the delay IMO.

Next monday I will finally get my new iphone. I have been practicing how to hold it properly on my old 3GS for weeks now and I'm confident to get it right. And if not, there will still be the free bumper case to help me.
