Apple starts free case program, delays white iPhone 4 yet again

23 July, 2010
Apple started today the iPhone 4 free case program as promised. The whole procedure is done via a dedicated app directly from the phone. Meanwhile Apple quietly delayed the white iPhone 4 until the end of the year.

I didn't hv any problems too with the antennagate. But Jobs hv gone too far this time & Samsung really do the right thing in advertising the Ad.I think Apple will do something about it after Sept 30 cause the free bumper case offer lapse at that time.I think next year they're gonna change plan from one phone launch per year to at least 3 cause they're gonna target mid range & low range sooner or later to increase their market share as well.Very worried about Nokia though if they still haven't comes up with a phone that's on par even with Android. We'll see in the next few months.

How about Samsung's super Amoled when being held out in direct sunlight?

I Don't want scratches on my phone so i use a case -i thought IP4 is made of scratch resistant material 30times harded than glass
I Don't want Virus so like iTunes speaking of virus,i remember someone who mare a 'virus' for iphone and the poor guy received death threats bcoz your supposedly-virus free beloved iphone is not virus free after all
I Need to know how all the other companies all have signal problems -any antenna attenuates. the problem with jobs is that he stays away from the DROP CALL issue
I Like new technology trends pushing the boundary -since when did IP4 uses new tech? only US believed they lead in mobile industry
I like using proper methods to grasp -yep, grasp. natural way, not like the 'grasp' they did on the video on N97. the right term there is squeeze
I Like Apple -an apple a day keeps Jobs pocket wealthier
I Hate people that didn't turn off their Wi-Fi on purpose to try and
embarrass Steve when he was asking nicely -ROFL. only ignorant apple fanatics believes that wifi signal interfere with each other. or maybe your IP4 was made that way..

i beilieve that steve is right. every phone held on a way that blocks the internal antenna reduces signal. but he is just going too far.

iphone4fan, 25 Jul 2010Where are all the other iphone fans? Happy using them Re... moreMate. You are soo far past into Jobs' wonderland you can't see the facts. Any regular employee from Samsung (and Apple too mind you) can simply go into a store, buy a competitor's product, and take it back to their engineering labs for disassembly. The only thing is you ain't allowed to copy anything from competitors or risk lawsuits. And what company in their right mind will place strips of conductive metal (Apple didn't even coat their antenna with transparent insulators) on the EXTERNAL part of the body, only for it to resonate uselessly into the human skin?

Samsung's been at the forefront of LCD screens for years. Even more advanced than Japan. Korean companies invested billions into LCDs while Japanese companies (Sharp, Toshiba, and most notably Sony) dismissed the idea of LCD panels being the next big thing (they were keen on projectors apparently). Well, look at the market today and I'll let you decide there.

Sure, the iP4's screen is, pixel-wise, great. But as a part-time LCD researcher (actually, I've been research flexible screens for a while), iP4's IPS screen is a HUGE power pig compared to organic-pixeled LCDs. And top that off with the fact that a Korean manufacturer is supplying Apple with then (I'm pretty sure it's LG at the moment). So no, Apple is not at the forefront of the technology, even their so-called Retina stuff. The only thing I can really give Apple the thumbs up for is their OS; that is a leap in user interface design, scripting, and efficiency.

Samsung's being wise again by trying to perfect the power-drainage issue FIRST, before addressing pixel density; note that Samsung has been leading the mobile LCD industry since, well the late 1990s. Pixel density is like a walk-in-the-park for them considering they had a 320x240 screen out in 2001 (while everyone else were introing the 128x160).

...I ain't a bias tech user. I only buy what I need, when I need it. I despise people who buy things because it's hip; go sponser a third-world child instead, for pete's sake.

Where are all the other iphone fans? Happy using them

Remember, give Apple iphone a chance, it's very good screen and speed.
FACT:Steve says it's the fastest phone on the market to run iOS4.

Bit worried why samsung are giving free Galaxy phones to people in the
Uk who can't hold it properly.

Why do Samsung want them? Hears a few reasons be discussed
-Reverse Engineer the Antenna design to gain knowledge
-Reverse Engineer the screen to work out why it's optically perfect

How stupid can people be to accept an ugly bumper case instead of getting the problem fixed??? How can one be grateful for that??? That's amazing... Maybe my friends are right when they pretend most apple fans are of lower intelligence and I slowly begin to think they are right. Jesus...

I personally haven't had a single dropped call on the iPhone 4, yes the signal is weaker then the 3GS but the new one is noticable faster regardless of the lower signal, so I'm not particularly bothered. I've still claimed the free case which I'm grateful Apple have offered to us.

I'm in phone trading for more than 10 years since Motorola's Startac was born. The least problem that most of my client's have was Apple indeed because of ease of use & quality products they're producing.HTC at the moment was a major improvement compare to few years back where the Touch models gave lots of problems.Samsung is good but they're too impatient to introduce new tech without testing it 1st & kept on introducing néw models before current ones mature in market till everyone felt no trust in after sale services & low resale value.Current most demanding & highest resale value was indeed Apple!
