Anonymous, 24 May 2016Come on Now you everything to be Low price, let me guess yo... moreWho cares? Some people have better things to spend money on than "flagships". Like nice big TVs, gaming systems, nice PCs. A flagship is nothing more than an expensive handheld media device. But go ahead and consume media on your dinky "flagship" screen.

Ritzie, 24 May 2016Because it's CUSTOM ROM as you say....
If you mean CM pl... moreCustom ROM is now a synonym to CyanogenMod? No, it's not.
If independent DEVs can take the source code, the drivers and build a entirely new ROM and new kernels for a smartphone, so does the manufacturers, they just don't want to.

AnonD-292359, 24 May 2016There is no CyanogenMod for MediaTek processors. The old Ga... moreI know that, MediaTek doesn't publish their source codes. But the manufacturer have those codes, THEY CAN update the device, but they don't want to, to force you buy a new device to get the new software features hahaha
And I don't remember mentioning CyanogenMod, I spoke of Custom ROMs in the general, there's many of them.

AnonD-523335, 24 May 2016If it's not compatible with the hardware how come the commu... moreThere is no CyanogenMod for MediaTek processors. The old Galaxies that you mentioned are all Qualcomm chipsets. Chinese manufacturers are loath to let anyone near their source code, even if they are in violation of the terms.
(edit: and my Chinese manufacturers I mean MediaTek, Rockchips, Allwinner etc)

Phinch88, 24 May 2016Really good entry level Sony here
Sony E5
4.6 inch scre... moreYou forgot to mention that the iPhone sure uses a far superior LCD display, the chipset is far superior than a cheap MediaTek, superior camera, it's worth mentioning that megapixel count does not define quality and of course, the memory chips sure are way faster than on this Sony.
Non sense compare a legacy device with a flagship, and I don't even like Apple, you see

Ritzie, 24 May 2016This is also the reason why OEMs don't update to the latest... moreIf it's not compatible with the hardware how come the community of independent DEVs from XDA develop Custom ROMs with the last released version of Android to old devices like Galaxy S3 and legacy devices too, like Galaxy S4 Mini? Huh?
Both Galaxy S3 and S4 Mini can be updated to Android Marshmallow, and they're old.
