Mystery Sony smartphone spotted on GFXBench

28 May, 2016
The device appears quite similar to the Xperia X Performance in specs, but with a few notable differences.

AnonD-287672, 30 May 2016Then what exactly is the overpriced X series for? Z6 is for ultimate performance beyond the X series but if you've seen speed tests of the X against the G5 and HTC 10, it beats them both and performs 90% as fast as an Exynos S7 with only a Snapdragon 650, that is incredible. Sony's software optimization is insane. If the X can perform this well, clearly the X Performance will beat every other phone out there. Even if the X costs $500, it is worth every single penny. I will be buying the X Performance however.

        Speed tests (real world performance):

This is a mystery phone, but why other brands's "fans" (Samsung Xiaomi etc) like to express their experiences? It is a better way to compare with a mystery phone? Or it is a kind of way to "advertising"? Please focusing to the mystery phone not the variety crap phones.

--, 29 May 2016Why you blame samsung fans for sony's failure? Are you jeal... moreSorry to brake it to you but I chose Sony specially cos it doesn't have amoled screen. Not everyone is obsessed about it. As for payments, I don't want Fuggle to know my fingerprints for one. I've deleted the NFC apk anyway, along with bluetooth, radio and a lot of other apps I consider to be bloatware.
May I ask why is it that Sammy boy toys always have to troll on Sony related articles? Are you really that insecure that you have to troll? You don't see Sony fans trolling Sammy products. So go troll iPhone, Sammy 's big brother. We all know that Sammy is the iPhone of Android. Which is a disgrace to the whole Android community.
As for the quality build, everyone that I know having a Sammy phone is disappointed by it. They all look scratched on the sides after a few months. That metal on the sides is actually painted plastic and you dare telling us about sammys quality..
Get a life dude. You're simply pathetic!

My guess is that Geekbench got the physical screen size wrong, happens all the time. It's either:
                                    - a 4.6 or 4.7" compact which gets the FHD screen people were criticizing Sony for missing (although still not needed imo) and returning the 4k as the compact is rightly Sony's headline product...
                                    - Or a 5.2 or 5.3" Premium whose res reads at FHD because the 4k screen doesn't kick in on the benchmark. Which would also hint at why 4k video was left off the performance, to push people towards the Premium. Makes sense in a way, why bother with 4k video if you can't play back in 4k....? Short-sighted reasoning of course but feasible in any case...
