Time sure flies by and Midgard is no more.
Not sure how i feel about the 32 shader cores support but majority of ARM GPU in SoCs are still stuck in 2-4 config (except Tegra, Exynos 5420 and up, and mid to high-end Snapdragon SoCs)
Shader cores do most of the heavylifting in GPU intensive (like gaming) tasks and manufacturers being stingy is what hurts the GPU technology.

I wonder how long we need to wait for ARM to make first proper graphic cards.. AMD seems to be to weak to fight nVidia monopoly... 3rd player would be more than welcome.

so G71 gfx core is supposed to buffer each screen one by one at 120 or more times per second, like a S-R71 fireing each of its pw J58 engine, han?......so tell me how is it supposed to improve smartphone's single screen performance?.... aren't they wasting money and time for a tech which ain't even required

However like you say there hasn't been any major developments or innovations when it comes to battery technology itself, but the current standard is also not too bad.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see new developments in battery tech too but however technology is changing. Sadly it won't wait for any battery breakthroughs so we need to make do with what we have.
On the brighter side we still have quick charging that's improving rapidly, wireless chargers that are just as good as wired ones, batteries are getting bigger and lastly optimisations from software to hardware are there too to prolong battery life.
Until we get a breakthrough in battery tech, let's relax and not panic when current tech advances.

I me... moreI'd say his concerns are valid - battery tech has, for all practical intents and purposes, been stagnating for years now. I don't see LiPo remaining viable for more than another 5-7 years (10 at the most), which may not be enough time for another battery tech to be properly developed and implemented. I find it quite worrying as well.

Look with every new technology introduced, there will be optimisations and sustainable implementations of such technology.
OEM's like Samsung have been doing a great job bringing new tech with minimum to no negative impact on the end-user.
