Spike1, 03 Jun 2016I wish the slim device thing stop snd we start getting big ... moreI am on the same page. See, high-end smartphones are good with gaming and LTE connectivity but they just burn through battery life like there's no tomorrow (literally, as it needs charging daily).

There's a solution but having and carrying a battery bank is just cumbersome.

      No thanks...too expensive

I wish the slim device thing stop snd we start getting big batteries in High end phones too.
Is the policy: lower end models can look fat (big batteries) and higher end should look slim? Is someone trying to say that slim ness is for high end and those on lower spectrum can be fat!?

zodiacfml, 03 Jun 2016What is with the obsession with large batteries on mid-rang... moreYes, and no. You'll get a much larger boost to run time on mid-low end handsets as the components aren't as power hungry. Less than 5% (probably less than 0.5% really) of users have any need for the specs on most high end handsets anyways, there's a much larger user base for midrange priced units with extended run time with high usage.

Also using batteries that will require more recharge cycles, thus reducing their effective life span, is part of the planned obsolescence that is important to the high profit margin of the high end handset market, using larger batteries hurts profits on cost per unit and useful life cycle turn over.

This one is way too expensive for just a massive battery on offer. Just go and buy a powerbank and a proper phone.

What is with the obsession with large batteries on mid-range parts/performance which is pretty redundant?

Isn't bigger batteries best for flagship SoCs and displays?
