Play Store prompts you to uninstall apps if your storage is full

03 June, 2016
It seems Google sneaked in a useful feature in the Play Store app when no one was looking. Previously, when you ran out of storage, you would just be informed that the storage is full. This would then prompt you to run around all over the place, deleting things.

        Internal Storage: 50MB free
        External Storage: 16GB free

current app downloading is 50+ MB or maybe a bit lower, it will still not work since the downloading app will first be stored in the phone memory while it is downloading and there are some apps that are operating which also is using the free memory in your phone storage, huge external memory will be useless if you don't know how to clean your phone from bloatwares

          Solution is very easy
          - Root your phone
          - Use TB to freeze/backup/restore app

I have about 300 apps installed on phone but only 30 of them active, the rest is frozen by TB so my system runs smooth, RAM isn't hogged by background apps.

In case your internal storage full you can move app to sd, or backup & uninstall least used app and restore later when needed, TB can backup/restore app complete with its user data so nothing is missing.

So even if you got a lot left from the external storage/SD card/memory card, you still need to free up your internal/phone storage to get your apps downloaded . ;))

also, it says there's no space for a 5mb app when there's 500mb free. crazy!

Now when an update out, download size will show 20MB, no longer show full apps size.

And download size is added some version ago.
Previously it always show full apps size (example 50MB),
Even an update out it still show 50MB,
                          When you download update,
it will stop at if apps need 20MB to update

its good start but not the best way out to solve the storage problems. We all buy new gagets every two to three yrs so can have more room on our phone to store more apps but run out of space soon.what is the use of buying a new phone if we ahve to see this storage message a week or a month later.we all have to sit and delete.what is the use of having so many apps then on play store if we can load only one or two hundred app for your million collection. When will goggle fix it storage issues or they are jjust keen on seeling software.

At least they can give us a option to store the images and video from all the social app on the sd card by default, then we are talking something.

i just bought s7 edge and only 6 gb is left after moving all my apps to sd card.
                            Thanks for reading.

Some OEMs/Custom ROMs could modify that window popup, but none of system, especially 4.4 didnt show this type of window.

                                1) this is not an added feature recently , it comes with os itself
                                2) i have experienced this feature in kitkat 4.4.2 in april 1014 September month itself .
                                3) whenever we to try to install from downloaded applications, or from google play store , after downloaded , a first app installer checks "" there is enough free space to install "" and "' free ram space to run "'
                                4) if the free space is not available means , it will give warning to uninstall apps
