ive had this phone for almost two weeks now, and im quite satisfied with it.
the functionality for its price is gorgeous, and the screen is beautiful. if theres one thing it beats the k750i straight out in, its the first impressions that people get looking at it.
so yep.. music and camera are all very decent too =)
however, users who are unable to tolerate slightly laggy interface would have to give this phone a pass.
so to anyone who might be deciding whether or not to get the s88, id like to say that you could fall in love with the phone with just a little bit of patience!

Why don't GSMArena make a review on such a great phone? I really hope that they would make a review for it. I bought mine for $2600 HKD and it came with a welcome pack two batteries , stand charger , cell phone cover , and cell string. It's a great phone! Very Nice Display. Brilliant colors.

Man , don't you know that Oled Display has better picture quality than a TFT screen? Its response time is also faster than a TFT screen. It has richer color compared to TFT.

Yes, it allows multi-tasking. Pretty good implementation of it too.

to Janry:
I need to ask you whether the music player is multitasking or not (unlike SE K750). how about the navigation of the mp3 player, any song list classified based on title, singer, album, etc. hope you can help me before consider to buy it between S88 & W800i. thanks

I got this phone a week ago. Been trying everything on it and so far so good. Its aesthetically pleasing to the eye, large screen and the interface is easy to use too. I've kinda grown to it now. But i have some gripes as well.
@Janry: you're right when u say the phone is laggy. It really is. And it goes into screen saver mode way too fast for my liking. The joystick is kinda stiff but softens up with use. The profile options are too inflexible unlike nokia. And it hung on me twice considering I just got it a week back.
But i got mine pretty cheap. In fact its now on par with k750 in price here in singapore. Just $298 with 2 yr contract.
Overall not a bad phone. If u are going for aesthetics, then i highly recommend this phone. It looks cool, has a 2meg cam, simple to use and feels great in yr palm. But if detailed functionability is yr thang, then i recommend u try something else. Hope this helps.

->However you look at it, the "SCREEN" is one important aspect when judging wether a phone is good or not. This one, although featuring the average 256k colors and 176 x 220 pixel count, is in the form of OLED and not the better TFT. TFT LCD is currently the finest LCD known to man. OLED is also good, known for it's rich colors and all-angle view, it's appearance is somewhat murky if you ask me. And for you people out there who don't know much, TFT LCD's are becoming standard to phones, while CSTN LCD's are for the low-grade, value phones. OLED is ancient just like CSTN (though I admit OLED is better than CSTN) and is rare in a phone. OLED was used AEONS ago by Samsung. It's ancient now. They should've gone for TFT.

Do you know what you are talking about, nameless? Have you seen the screen for yourself yet? It beats out my S700's screen and my friend's k750's screen. It is also brighter than my friend's panasonic screen with 16million colours.
Please, do not comment on the phone if you have yet tp try it out personally. Your speculations are baseless!
The sound is really, really loud and clear for mp3s and ringing tones. The phone's UI is a little laggy but a FW update will fix it in no time. The keypad was a joy to use unlike the joystick above, which is pretty stiff. I guess stiff means durability (:
If you have nothing good to say, then don't say anything. I love this phone(which uses Sony-made camera module and a real macro mode instead of a digital one -ala k750) and you can bet I have my eyes on it. The camera(pitted side by side against k750, is better) is awesome beating out what has been touted the best 2mpx camera in the market today.
Sure, it is pricey, but I think it's worth it. To try it out in real life, is really much better than on specs alone. With time, the price is gonna get lower than the k750(it's about the same price as the k750 here in Singapore) and will be well-worth your money.

Please look Menu of SONY Ericsson, the joystick of Sony ericsson and then look at the Main screen for any SE phone ( The screen where you see the background picture, bluetooth icon if active etc), also look at the camera layout at the back ( reminds me of the W800. This phone is a imitation to Sony ericsson

This phone is compared with K750!! That phone with a bad joistick, who needs an W800 soft to work! Are you comparing those two? U make me laugh!
