I just finished instaling the new 6.0.1 (marshmallow) update checked it out and looks pretty good gotta say its a nice update to my idol 3 5.5"...
The only down side is that the dark color looks dim when watching vids and game play. The 5.0.2 version (lollipop) had better color display...

I have the Alcatel one touch idol and I have update 5.0.2-010 05 but it keeps telling me to check my network when I try to download it. Internet is working fine for everything else. Any suggestions?

How do you turn off vibrate with the new update n the keyboard because it id frustrating before the update it didnt vibrate and now it does. How do i turn it off?

My Idol 3 came from Cricket. I doubt any users that bought a Cricket Idol 3 will ever see the update. Cricket knows nothing about a update for thier version of the phone; but it is locked to Cricket and no covered in the Unlocked roll out.

I can't seem to get my screen to flip to wide screen in text ever since the update. Works for everything else except text. Anyone else have this problem?

One guy in Russia already released a customized version of Mashmallow (6.0.1) for 6039Y, based on USA version. Custom version includes few additional languages, like Russian, Ukranian, Deutch, Estonian and some others. I was already tested it on my 6039Y - seems all works perfect. Firmware released as TWRP backup, so, everyone who has TWRP on his phone can test it for free. Or another way - is to wait for an official release in your region.
