LinkedIn + Skype, could be something there... providing low cost method for small companies to hire staff, maybe maybe.

Is LinkedIn worthy of $26 billion?

I have to say that I find it annoying to see Microsoft taking over good independent businesses like Skype and LinkedIn. Don't see how they can add value for the customer, no evidence so far with Skype. I guess they have run out of ideas of their own to make money.

The market is saturated and even Apple's profits would drop within the next few years, they already made 15% less in q1 2016 than q1 2015.

And the fact is there simply isn't any way they can be 'relevant' in mobile anyway.

                                  What are they thinking?

If they invested that money in to the mobile business, they could become relevant.

LinkedIn, is just a fad. MS will never ever make that much money from LinkedIn, probably not even a tenth.
The mobile business, even if they don't make the money back directly, it's a way to stay relevant and still be around.
                                  LinkedIn is just a money-pit.

                                  MS badly needs new leadership.

                                    Good bye linkedin :)
