okcnaline, 14 Jun 2016I prefer not to say this, but I have to put it out there...... moreso what? trends are kind a same among people, so of course companies add same things to make their users happier. Think about symbian all things what it had, if no-one couldn't copy symbian our smartphones would be very different today.

I prefer not to say this, but I have to put it out there... Apple, you copied Android.

AnonD-548563, 14 Jun 2016will samsung galaxy s3 to s7 get the next android update on... moreThis is what I do not like about android. If you have to use latest OS and its features, u have to shell around $400-$500 as old phones do not get the new updates.
Apple OS updates still available for 2012 iphones.

BTW i am an android user.

Airbus A340-500, 14 Jun 2016I don't think Dark Mode in LCD screens is any good, it only... moreI think it was done in preparation for Apple's transition to AMOLED screens in 2017.

AnonD-88670, 13 Jun 2016What happen ?? Where is dark mode? I don't think Dark Mode in LCD screens is any good, it only aids in power saving on AMOLED screens as LCDs will still be powering the pixels on a black display

Nice new features, it looks like a great update.

However, due to the heavy reliance on local (I.e. On device) computation for thing some of the more complex features, I can see many of them making it as far back as the 5S, let alone the 5.

Still, at least they are still included eh.

Xz8441, 14 Jun 2016Welcome Apple to the past. lolYup.

Still waiting for Apple to stop depending on iTunes. I can mass add or delete files on iPhones. No select all and delete.

Still waiting for gallery app as good as QuickPic which shows videos and photos. Or a video player as good as MX Player which can play MKV and AVI format. Heck, iTunes can't even recognize. Many iOS users still need a program to convert them to MP4.

Still waiting for torrent apps and no need to jailbreak it to get anything right.

Still waiting for an e-book reader like Moon+ Reader which can open different formats including PDF for magazines.

No file explorers yet. No TubeMate which can download other sites. No one-click root like KingRoot. No RAM swap capability.

Sure many of you want it EASY. Can't memorize the steps enough like us poor Android users who are very capable using our phones to its MAX POTENTIAL. Simple to use. Yeah, right. The more proprietary a system is, the more limiting and restrictive it really is.

                      Still waiting... Too slow, Apple.

Most of the features are already there in ANDROID.Widgets on lockscreen were there in android 4.2 and now apple is bringing back......apple is still in 2012 when nexus 4 was launched. :-D
Expanded notifications on Lockscreen already there since Android 5.0....and apple is bringing now....Bubble like notification effect is already present in Android, even photos app changes are there in android.
In simple words Apple Copied Android.!!!!

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2016ctrl+C ctrl+VYes, yes, lets just write comments as if they have a meaning....

Try 'power on button', or 'emails app'.

Writing these things in a forum filled with bashing suggests that they might be needed.

Alluding that iOS doesn't have copy and paste is just plain silly, and is the most part for why Apple users appear like 'fans'. - feeling a need to educate ignorant or uneducated tech people who have 'missed the benefit' of Apples offering to the marketplace.

Apple users enjoy a nice productive ecosystem, and get on with their lives happy with their decisions.

Android forums are filled with comments about how other brands (still android) get it wrong.
And it seems like there is a universal hate for Apple, which for many, is born out of ignorance.

Glad this was from an anonymous.
Cause blind hate is the best hate of all....

Copy/paste/power on and email checking are, fact, part of an iOS device.
As is great multitasking, split screen functionality, exceptional battery life and great security.
In devices that work well and are reliable.

When using a bluetooth keyboard I was amazed at how many shortcuts were usable.
Admittedly I started using iOS after version 9 was out, and find it a very capable OS.

Vanilla Android is fast and if updated regularly, is fairly secure.
iOS individual app permisions has been around for awhile (as arguably has been Android 6), although my Samsung Note Edge hasn't got it yet, and it is a premium phone that has been on the market for just shy of two years.
iOS 10, installed and using five hours after it is announced.
Sure using sammobile I can hack android 6 onto my phone,.. But presently no rom for areas with similar radio files to Australia is out, and the amount of dodgy odin installers on the net is ever growing.
Updating direct from Apple, and always having latest and greatest security installed is just one of the 'peace of mind's that Apple products come with.

Saving a dollar buying non Apple kit is a saving quickly forgotten once the actual using of said devices starts to happen.
Apple are genuinely happy to give products relatively lengthy lifetimes.
Samsung, as an example, have quickly dropped all love for my note edge and samsung fit wristband. I know I won't easily give money to the, again (fool me once...)

                                Forums give everyone a voice,..
I could write a lot of fudge about a whole slew of devices, yet, arguably iOS has little to complain about.
                                It is an evolving platform.
Whether it will ever get a file system is a moot point.
cloud storage mostly nullifies issues, and for many apple device users, they wouldn't actually want one... Being happy owning a relatively simple to operate 'smart phone' is enough for many.

Other than itunes there isn't a whole lot wrong with Apples platform.
