I have seen alot of smart phones come and go and while they have all failed to see the need to know why its supposed to b a smartphone , consistently packing phones with a no brainer to useless functions ... non has caught my attention like this the moto z .... its phenomena. ... i think its the best smart phone ever created till date ... it actually accounts for something which is flexibility (with the mods) these guys brought the feature early ... if it wer up to Samsung and apple .... this will not happen in the nearest feature. ... someone said somthing about the camera hump ... if ther is no cameara hump ... how do you think the mods will look on the phone ... and yes it would have an effect on the camera ... it also help hold the mods in place ... seriously it couldn't be clearer ... it gives you achance to choose any back cover style which is great thing matches the phoes ultra slim body ,The head phone jack ??? i think its time we try something new ... lets take a leap of faith on that one ... nonetheless its a great idea ...what we should be really worried about is the thermal conditions and performance because the build is a 9.9 ..... this is truly innovation. ...

Well it is only hot because of moto z force's shatterproof display but sadly it will be competing against new nexus when comes in India (October according to the rumor) good phone though but absence of 3.5mm jack will be felt, they shouldn't have made global release available in September, it would have captured much more customers than what they get from verizon in these three months

To me I would assume that they dropped the 3.5mm jack cause they have to cram a lot of hardware in that slim body that works with the so called Moto mods. Also I think the audio output on the type c connector is better than on the 3.5mm jack hence is why they have that jbl motomod as well.
These are my thoughts. It might be or might not be the case

We are in 2016, is time to drop the dinosaur technology, stop moaning about the 3.5 jack!
Battery, yes a bit week, but what do you expect fro a super slim phone, which also comes with Turbo charge to compensate anyway.
Just stop crying, and admit it that is a f*** great phone!

The MotoMods is way too expensive anyway. I don't think this concept makes sense.

I see so many complain about the lack of a 3.5mm jack. Well they are giving you a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter in the box as well. Just leave the adapter attached to you favorite headphones/headset all the time, so you won't loose or misplace the adapter. Problem solved. Or better yet buy a half decent Bluetooth headset. You can even buy Bluetooth headsets with both wired and wireless.

The Vivo X5 Max is 5.1mm thick and it has a standard headphone jack. Surely the Moto Z has higher quality materials that make sticking a 3.5mm jack in there hard, but there's a thinner phone out there that has one so that argument is, in my opinion, invalid.

I love it too.. just the no 3.5mm jack is bugging me.
Oh well, I already have a s7 edge so I won't be buying this generation...
May be next year..
