3 times generic Android boredom

Not into the Apple ecosystem but business wise they hit the nail on the head with:

- a small phone (4,0" like old skool Galaxy S i9000) but really good specs

- a standard size phone (iPhone 6) which actually fits well in a pants pocket + good specs

- a big phone (iPhone 6 plus) I guess because of market demands and poor people who can't double dip for a tablet at home.

If you want a decent specced small size phone on Adroid there are the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016). That's it.
