Evernote's paid-only passcode lock feature is now available to all users

Popular online note-taking service Evernote has announced that its passcode lock feature, which has been paid-only until now, is now available to all users on mobile. This means that you can access the feature even if you're using the free version of the service.

Does this still exist? Why would anyone even use this nowadays, when we have access to the more powerful and simpler OneNote?
