Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly have the same AMOLED suppliers as the S7

22 June, 2016
The Korean company is allegedly sticking with the same three companies that sold it the parts for the displays of the S7 duo.

but i do forgive yall, for not knowing your phones , im just assuming yall first started using notes during the note 4 s5 time frame , the only time there were actually true differences between the 2 phones beyong just size and s pen.. so i guess yall just arent old enough to have ever compares s2 note 1 s3 not 2 s4 note 3 , (s5 note 4 being the one anomoly of the series) s6 note 5 going back to the roots of all the other being pretty much the same.

i guess yall need to start slapping gsmarena around for not knowing their phones, because the note has to be far superior then the s varient, just has to be.

Still, the Galaxy S III is lighter on the pocket (in both the physical and monetary sense) and is pretty much the same device in terms of software and hardware (sans the S Pen).

its an actual review in gsmarena, i never knew their were actual note fans and s fans who refuse to believe the devices are cut from the same cloth. the review specifically states they are 2 similar phones cut from the same cloth. chipset identical just clocked .2 higher on the note. same camera basically the exact same experience the 2 major differences being the s pen and the multi window.

as hard as it is for i guess a note fan to ever admit it. they were designed specifically with that way in mind. and it makes sense from a design stand point.your basically hitting both groups of buyers, as even that article says. note and s have always been that way. its just note fans want to think theirs is the pro version. no its the phablet version , meant for a better larger screen experience. just like screen one has a larger screen but lower pixel density , because both screens in each generation have the same 720p 1080p hd qhd uhd.

so stop being a note fan and realize samsung flagships are great all around.

MajesticRD, 23 Jun 2016Only screen size and s-pen are the differences?... FOR REAL... moreOnly screen size and s-pen are the differences?... FOR REAL!... Kid, you don't even know what you're talking about.
Bigger battery, more ram, better processor, more features... ETC. I bet this KID does not even owns a galaxy smartphone.

also you are aware the bigger battery is to compensate for the larger screen size if you actually looked at the endurance , after all if they had the exact same battery size in them notes would have poor endurance.

more ram is kind of hit and miss, some of the sets do have more ram then their counterpart some do not , in fact the original s2 note 1 both had the same 1gb of ram go figure. better processor is debateable. since the processor is more region specific when it comes to samsung phones , i prefer the exynos processors myself. right down to the 7440 in the note 2. but could really only get that in asian markets. even though it benchmarked lower then the snapdragon counter part , it always seemed to run smoother and cooler.

more features of course it has more feature, (The Spen and features associated with it) beyond that the other feature like smart stay and such were in their s counterpart prior to going into the note.

and this kid is over the hill and has owned several.

MajesticRD, 23 Jun 2016Only screen size and s-pen are the differences?... FOR REAL... morewell kid , who still has his mommy buy his phones for him. If you would have read the fact i was responding to someone else s comment, which apparently your mental capacity has yet to mature enough to realize. I was solely comparing what he said was the only difference being the s-pen. and if you actually spend the time looking at each one you will see that each of his 3 declarations are the same from set to set. And in response I do use Samsung Phones. Notes to be more specific. When you grow up we might be able to debate more on this. I'll wait for such a time though.

Nowadays even OLED material is controlled by IP. Samsung hold is key patents for some critical OLED technology for small OLED. One of them is Novaled purchase. Life time is difficult for OLED. Samsung is clear leader is this components.

i believe the reason why they will call it note 7 is to be caught up with the naming scheme. with regards to the design, have you seen the finished product already for you to say that there's almost no difference in the design? the only downside for me if the rumors are true that there will only be a curved screen version.

The manufacturing process ultimately determines the cost, yield, and quality of the display.

Semiconductor components always come from the same suppliers (Ex. Wafers used in AP fabs). The difference between Samsung's AMOLED and another company's OLED comes down to manufacturing process.

OLED on the other hand which is a similar tech in displays can be used by anyone. LG manufactures OLED displays and even has them on some phones of their own as well as other companies. But i dont see them selling like hot cakes.

Whatever the case may be, Samsung is the undisputed king in this OLED/AMOLED market for now.
