Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop starting at $799.99

23 June, 2016
Samsung's latest Windows 10 laptop is of the 2-in-1, or convertible type - its display rotates all the way, letting you use it in normal laptop mode, or put it in 'tent' mode to watch movies, or you can spin it all the way to enjoy tablet mode.

It should be able to run a linux distro. You would probably have to do some configuration for the touchscreen but I would imagine everything else to work fine out of the box.

Costs quiet a bit and yet no USB C charger provided, wonder if the sole USB C port actually supports charging!! Samsung this is so cheap of you!!

Let's hope this presages Samsung re-entering the Windows Phone sphere. Samsung's ATIV SE was the best Windows Phone of its time, hampered only by being a Verizon exclusive.

Somehow this feels like better value than the Samsung Notebook 9 series. Design seems to have changed though, I think.

AnonD-485191, 23 Jun 2016Great specs. I would pick this over Microsoft Surface anyday.I have an SP4, (which by the way fell off the table onto the floor without any harm done just a few hours ago after I tripped over the power cable! Silly me). Anyway, the form factor is excellent, specially the kickstand and general build quality. Best of all, lack of built in keyboard means you can Bluetooth any keyboard to it and position both to your liking. It is fast and light too. I gave up >20 years of using a Mac to make the switch. The Samsung seems good too but built in keyboard is restricting if you prefer to choose one.

Hopefully Samsung will think about fast charging in tablets too.
