The update should begin its rollout today, and it will make it to all Icon units out there in a few days.

The Upgrade Compatibility app worked perfectly! Now I have the Anniversary Update to download/install but I have to wait until I can get a wi-fi connection, being on a metered connection now won't allow it even when I've changed the switches to allow roaming and incur additional data charges; being on a ship at sea within cellphone range does have it's limitations.

So far it works just fine. Quite a few apps don't work anymore (nothing critical) as to be expected (most were incorporated into existing apps or redesigned) and I had to update most individually due to the Win10 update. The Hotmail and Office 365 apps are gone but figured out how to pin my Hotmail back to the Start screen where it was before without a problem but it uses the same icon as the Outlook icon instead of it's own unique icon. The Office 365 app doesn't work anymore but the individual apps work without a problem so I just added the four MSO apps I use the most back to the Start screen has half-sized icons so they'll fit in the same spot as the old Office 365 app icon.

Hopefully with the Anniversary Update it will fix the problem of multiple windows not collapsing when you back out of them. I found out that when you back out of them they don't close like they used to. Instead you have to manually close-out each window when you're done with them or you'll have several windows stacked underneath/on top of each other from whatever activity you where doing previously.

I really like the new design of having all the most useful controls available by swiping down from the top so you can toggle controls. For example, before you always had to go to settings for internet sharing or for other controls that weren't on the pull-down list of switches.

The smaller fonts are nice too, didn't really care for the huge fonts of before.

The menus are laid out nicer too, although you do have to spend some time to adjust to the new layout but if you already have Win10 on your PC then it's not a problem at all.

I have noticed my battery drains much faster now which is the only bad thing I can say about the upgrade but I have noticed that it recharges much faster too.

So far it was worth the wait.

Wow! I found this by accident. I'll give it a try and see if it works on my Icon. I tried the app a few months ago and all it said was that my phone is eligible for Win10 when available unlike my Lumia 635 which isn't the 1GB version.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2016Who uses this fail os?Millions of people are using this. Actually, you have never ever tried it and probably are some blind Lagdroid fanboy, feeling threatened. You don't like it, fine. A lot of people do.

If You Can Not Find Update Usual Way In Phone Settings, Run Windows Upgrade Advisor And It Will Force Update To Windows 10.

Carrier branded phones take forever to update. Notice the unbranded Lumia 930 has had the update for a while now. That's one of the many reasons I go unlocked......but still happy to see the Icon getting a taste of the Windows 10 goodness.
