1080p is enough even for a 6" display
the battery is the weakest point in modern devices

If there is no SD card slot, it should also come with a 64gb variant. Read on gsmarena itself that it may come in a 32 GB & 128gb variant.

Disappointing stuff, being a former Nexus 5 users. Why are Nexus phones not as good as they used to be?

2,770!? Why-oh-why do companies keep making small incremental boosts in battery life? I don't even care if it has an average-ass 5" 1080p screen. *sigh* Another phone I have to avoid like the black plague.

I think this is the highest time to launch Nexus with Linux MeeGo Sailfish OS. I have seen this OS on the other mobile and I will certainly buy Nexus with Sailfish OS - good news!

I sort of have OCD-(preference) for phones to have a 3,000mAh battery, but honestly this is fine. It's rocking a 1080p screen, so less battery will be used compared to if it is a Quad HD screen.
And I am glad it's going for a 1080p, HTC knows what they're doing. The only reason why the HTC 10 (their first phone to have) had a Quad HD display, was for marketing purposes in an effort to best other flagships.
As long as a phone has at least 350ppi, it's good enough. Because e.g. it's extremely difficult to tell the differences between a 400ppi display and a 500ppi display. For reference, the new OnePlus 3 has a beautiful 1080p display at 401ppi. A "better display" at that point doesn't even matter. If this "leaked info" is correct, then codename "Sailfish" will have a 441ppi display.
Battery and display sounds great so far; if you people want something to complain about, you'll have to search better than that.

Taiwan is not China, i.e. The Peoples Republic of China. It was obvious the poster was referring to China, in the conventional sense. I really wish there would be a Nexus device based on the HTC 10, with a 5.2 inch screen. I don't want to have the to get a phablet to get flagship specs.

All good, but screen size could be 5.5" at leasf, battery capacity could also be increased a bit, 4K mah at least, 2.7K or so might not be enough.

I still say it's one of the most beautiful, feel good, in hand devices ever. No question about that. Like apple it's aesthetics and you get that with the freedom of marshmallow. Not even the 10 feels as nice and smooth. I would never go back to a phone now with a sharp edge where glass meets body. I dreamt one day of wanting that feel of a 6s but Android. It was answered. In regards to nexus, I hope HTC builds the premium device.
