Seriously... a lot of android haters loggin on...
Personally, I am hoping Apple can restore my faith because eventhough I went to a different platform( LG V10) . I still like the ease Apple made my day to day... my LG has all that Apple failed to do: Better Screen, expandable memory, superior camera..ability to charge wireless, quick charge... BUT I have had more problems with BLUE TOOTH, WiFi Connections, battery dies fast and the annoying need to reboot...
So do I wait for iphone 7, upgrade to iphone 6S plus... or get another replacement...
Great.. Apple needs to make better phones already

The only way it's okay to remove the 3.5mm jack is to INCLUDE the adapter in the box of the iPhone 7. If that's not the case, I swear it will be enough for me to jump on the Note 7. Just that alone. Sick of this.

AnonD-553797, 27 Jun 2016So, with the removal of the headphone , instead of being ab... moreOther sites rumor that Apple isn't ditching the 3.5 mm jack, so it's hard to know what to believe, but its absence doesn't mean lower quality music, in fact the contrary. Sure, if you're going to strap $25 Bluetooth 2.0 headphones on you're head you're going to get lousy quality and $200 Bluetooth 4.0 won't be much better. That's why headphone makers are moving toward lightning connectors. This does two things:
1. Allow for more data to stream to the headphones. This means if you so desire, you can listen to better than CD quality lossless music with zero degradation and no analog hum (it also means you probably can only carry 10-15 songs at a time on your phone if you listen to music at that quality)
2. Power to the headphones. When headphones can be powered, that means digital to analog converters can be taken out of the phone and better ones can be put in a larger headphone housing along with a better amplifier that wouldn't have fit in the iPhone. Sure, we had crummy hardware in the phone to drive the 3.5 mm headphones, but now better hardware can exist outside the iPhone, powered via lightning connector.
There's also another pleasant side effect; when you hold the amplifier and digital converter in your hands, they may not seem that big, but they're huge in the iPhone world. Yanking that out means more room for more battery cells. Hopefully we'll see better battery life. We've seen incremental improvements with battery life every generation so I don't see why they would take a step backwards with this iteration. If they get rid of the 3.5 mm jack, I wouldn't mind so much, I actually look forward to it and other phone manufacturers doing something similar with the micro USB solution.

I assume the little hole between the lens and flash is a mic? Probably. Why though? It's not gonna make it that much better since the main one is multi-directional anyway. Ehhh...another phone iteration with no innovation. Same ol'story.

So, with the removal of the headphone , instead of being able to listen to higher quality lossless music with our high end wired headphones we will be forced to listen Bluetooth headphones at a much lower quality compressed ratio? Good Job apple

Huge camera hump, no headphone jack, and Battery that'll last you half a day at most because of choosing thinness over battery life. Congrats Apple, now your sales will plummet even more. Guess Apple is preparing its swansong. Lol

If the 3.5mm jack is gone and with that camera hump as a result of pointless thinness of the new iphone. I guess I'm gonna get something else once my carrier contract is up.
