Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo starts receiving Marshmallow OTA

        Great Samsung, My Samsung was still running Andriod 5.0.
        already receive the Security patch for the month of june but I haven't yet receive the Updates for Marshmallow.

            Some models don't get updates because of carrier delays and restrictions. But Apple can update their devices directly.

                  This is what makes samsung second to apple

                  Wanna be apple so bad but fail at doing so with updates

                  And the update for the longer flagships does not even include the new touchwiz

It's not like iphone where theres basically only one phone you have to upgrade. Before you bash samsung for its late(or sometimes no) upgrades remember how android is delivered to you. Android runs on top of linux kernel which is frequently upgraded and as far as my knowledge goes it can't be changed in a mobile phone. The new upgrade is carried on to the new devices since the devices are stuck on it forever. So its nearly impossible to keep upgrading a device forever since its like writing a new os altogether. And plus the problem of new phones that come out every year adds to this difficulty. Hence manufacturers decide to phase out a device when it's kernel becomes difficult to manage. But since lower end devices that come out with a new flagship habe more or less the same linux kernel it is just a matter of optimization for low resources. And that is how s4 doesnt get marshmallow but s5 neo does.

                            Wow. Too many samsung is up to 6.0,
                            I hope my A7 2016 is coming.

                              I keep reading news Samsung updating all of their old phones to Android Marshmallow. This will shut up all the haters that keep saying Samsung never updates. Meanwhile, Samsung keep updating all the flagships. Hello other manufacturer, where is your marshmallow? Lol.
