sounds interesting ..4ram 6 ram .. long cry from 500MB ram then 1GB ram 2013-bees knees ..our samsung galaxy note 4-ram 3 GB soon cloggs up upto 80% OCCUPIED ... rom 32GB - now only 8BG free -- and has been showing LAGGING random rebooting ..whatever next?
btw- why useless ram 500MB or hardly functioning 1BG ram still being sold in 2016 summer --even our samsung galaxy s4 --2GB ram 16GB rom not good enough even for spare .. SPACE POWER hungry apps --GOOGLE please do something pronto ..AH XAOMI- r u for long haul or me too ..

Do you remember old Sony Ericsson or Nokia phones ? They too did not have 3.5mm audio jack then , but soon they realised that audio O/P through digital port is nearly useless , and reverted to 3.5mm jack.
The brief science behind this is that humans can perceive sound only in analog mode. Digital signals mean nothing to the brain. So , it is always preferable to have a DAC on the phone , since they are more power and optimised and have huge processing reserve via the smartphone's processor.
Now you are giving an output through the digital port . Guess where the DAC is ? In the headphones, which does not have battery or huge processing power.
LeEco has just cooked up marketing BS. It is ALWAYS better to have a 3.5mm jack and a really good pair of headphones. That is why the music industry has been using it for such a logn time. Also , you cannot charge the phone while listening to music and all your music accessories are rendered waste.

Twice the resolution doesnt mean twice the battery loss. There is also a cpu and stuff like that. Xiaomi phones are great with battery life. Look at xiaomi mi max or xiaomi redmi note 3 pro.

Digital processing is just like that, optimizing on this area won't make it any (far) better except we have a quality converter (DAC) since we hear only analog.
