Christian, 02 Jul 2016I don't have a problem admiting if someting isnt good enoug... moreI don't need to research the iPhone screen as I did have an iPhone 6 ! I ended up giving it to my girlfriend. The screens are bright and colourful but they are also rough and grainy up close. This is because Apple decided that we mere mortals cannot notice the difference of a pixel density more than 326 ppi!
It's an example of Apple's arrogance, just like when they said no one needs a screen larger than 4 inches, they soon had backtrack on that one.
I'm not a iPhone hater, that would be ridiculous as they are great handsets but they should be better at the price.
All manufacturers need to be taken to task for their failings and arrogance, not repeatedly defended by fan boys. That way we get better technology in our hands.

just go and bu one of the z3 series or z5 series or x/xP .. after that you can t look at samy or apples phone .. just do this test ..

Sony has a rock bottom after sales service in Indonesia.
You have to either go all out war or beg with blood tears just to claim warranty for their defect product.
The easiest (and frequent) excuses they use to void a warranty are that the phone has been tampered or there are some rusts inside because of improper storing method.
Oh please... bye2 Sony.

But their display is not one of their downsides!Sure pixel density isn't the highest,but in every other way they had superior displays.Search yourself,and you'll see.... every measurment is top notch,better than (most) android displays today.And in the past the difference was even bigger.
And if you try to imply the lack of QHD resolution as a prerequsite for good display,than this conversation is comming to the end. :D

I have used Sony phones and I think they are great, but I think the problem is their high price and mostly lack of promotion and advertising. I can only remember Sony properly advertising for Xperia Z, as a result of which many people don't even know when Sony launches a new phone. I missed xperia Z5 compact and xperia x performance in India and now it looks like I will be missing a lot more.

The late years (2007-2011) of SE was terrible. Overpriced, under spec devices that took too long to release. They simply could not compete with iPhone.
The earlier years (2001-2006) they were up there with the best (Nokia). As you mentioned the walkman cybershot series, definitely some of the best back then. But this was so long ago that it's completely irrelevant now.
Sony was a step in the right direction with the Xperia S and the Z Series. Sony finally surpassed iPhone with Z Series. Obviously now Z series is dead, Sony has no hope and is following the exact same footsteps of Sony Ericsson. Their giving us under spec, overprice devices and take too long to release them. Wait a minute, sound like i just repeated myself. Oh no, Sony is repeating the same mistakes of SE.
Remember X1 and Satio, how long did it take for SE to get them on the market after announcement, their doing the same with the new X Series.
I agree with the designs being cooler but not better. There not premium like Z series. Not sure what features SE has over Sony. Doubt there was any that were useful.

I dont know their low grade types such as Galaxy J, galaxy On, etc.
Sony's low grade model lag too, only Z and X series doesnt lag.
