Xiaomi want to follow in footsteps of Huawei. Mate 8 and P9 seems to be selling well at premium prices and xiaomi wants a piece of the action.

Just go ahead, Xiaomi. Who are we, the masses, to tell you what to do. Probably you got a really nice concept there.
We do vote with our wallet though. Remember you are not the only OEM out there.
So I guess Xiaomi is giving its competitors a shot at its market share. If they seize this opportune development...

this was bound to happen. Xiaomi has a huge customer base now, so loyal fans and customers wont mind paying a bit higher for their devices.
