AnonD-442781, 06 Jul 2016Not all emulators require a bios. And you'd use your smartp... moreThere are a few variables here.

First, most mainstream emulators require bios and even if they don't you would still have to dump the game ROM using your console.
Second, the save state thing doesn't sit well with the gamers. It looks unnatural.
Third, the most important point, by the time a working emulator shows up the successor of the console is on the horizon. For eg: Citra can't even play most games and the next console(whose name just escapes my mind) is in talk for release. And by the time Desmume got close to DS functionality 3DS was already out.
Fourth, you can't expect smartphones to run latest consoles' games when normal PCs are struggling with it. The hardware used is inferior in lets say 3DS compared to latest flagships but optimization is where these flagships fall. Out best bet is an iPhone if 3ds games ever start working on smartphones.
Fifth, the experience. Do I need to say further? Play a game on DS and then on fully working Desmume. You will see the difference.

There are a few more points to be made but I thing this will suffice for now. Ignore any errors in the post, I am in a bit of hurry.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2016That's illegal unless you have your own bios which you dump... moreNot all emulators require a bios. And you'd use your smartphone for the same reason your smartphone is a smartphone, and that it has a camera, because its more convenient that way. Save States allow for a truly portable experience too. Suddenly need to stop playing? You can easily stop at that very moment and come back to that very moment. No need to worry about when the last time you saved was or how long you have.

Nobody wants to carry around several devices when they could just use 1.

I'd love it if they brought an amazing graphically immersive Zelda game to PC. I think Nintendo can make more money from selling games than hardware. It used to be that I would buy the hardware just for specific games like Zelda. But after Wii I don't expect to buy anymore nintendo hardware. I would buy their games in a heart beat though.

AnonD-442781, 06 Jul 2016Just use an emulator. There's no emulator for the pokemon x and y for the mobile. And the DS xl games are pretty expensive.

Up until this moment and I still don't understand why none of these big Japanese game companies won't make a big/full scale mmo open world game on mobile! Or that at least have a global release instead of Japan only as always. Imagine a LOZ like open world game(the new upcoming one) on your smartphone, or a Pokemon( not the GO type) game. Mobile games nowadays are getting bigger and bigger, alos better and better. While most of Japanese game companies are still making 90% of their games "Japan only", the Korean's are raising and getting more recognition, gamevil(kritika), nexon(HIT), eyedentify(The blackened soul), 4:33(lost kingdom), and much much more. S.E is milking all of these FF games and some other by bringing most of these old games to mobile. But the new? Hardly any or any good one.

Above any other nintendo games. I wanna play pokemon on my smartphone cause that's the only game that is indeed enjoyable by all ages. Especially for those on the go. Now that the pokemon go is available. I prefer playing a pokemon which is an offline and I could train my pokemon. The good side of the pokemon go is the open world environment. But to travel cities by cities, countries by countries just to capture a specific pokemon? I don't think so!

Something new is a Super Smash Bros. mobile game. Go make that one, Nintendo!
