I don't think that information about the permissions is correct. As far as I know, it's the fake ones that ask permissions to access SMS/MMS etc.

Dan, 10 Jul 2016How about we just uninstall the install APK?? is that okay?well, do u really know how it works? lol, if u will login in malicious app, info will be sent to hackers also maybe some other info aswel. So if you will uninstall app, that will not mean that your info will be canceled. No, just later info will be not sent to hacker. While malicious app is on your phone - your device is on risk to steal data. Thats all. But thats just enough to login, and ur f*cced up

Probably APK does not work for IOS!

the safest way to get the apk, is through apkmirror site. it is displayed on the first page when you search for 'pokemon go' on google.
also you can verify the md5 of the original apk file there.
