Don't know much but am a serious user of application professionally being an architect. I used HTC HD2 after Nokia N95 but made my life very uncomfortable being having good features/technology and used to get hang etc and continuously had to ON OFF also formatted many times. After few months I noted the HTC has some circuit/system problem in my opinion. So I again transfer all my data to Nokia and say bye bye to HTC HD2. Iphone has compatibility problem, I have more then 1700 contacts. So in my opinion to my experiences since 2001 that Nokia is more user friendly and many applications are available on internet and free/easy. Any how am also thinking for samsung latest model. If some one has experiences to tell/share about Samsung

@HBK - well an old os doesn't necessarily mean a good os. In fact you guys seem outdated, I've read many articles regarding the topic "android vs symbian" and it has been discussed that symbian struggles to meet up with the newest standards, everyone agrees that Symbian got old now. Android on the other hand uses the Linux kernel which is the best kernel for any computer. Of course a kernel isn't the OS yet, there are more factors, but still a good start.
@Anonymous - I've heard Japan had a whole different world of their phones, however I've never heard about Nokia or Symbian ruling it? May be my lack of information in the past, however right now in the Japanese smartphone market iOS is dominating... You can google: "japan smartphone" and you will see it for yourself...
Symbian is nice, but it's kind of slow, there are many apps on it, but it seems Android and iOS is winning on that already.
Maybe Symbian is better? I do highly doubt it

Hello, hello, hello.... Stop blaming the symbion OS, as it is the revolution from when it was announced first to till now, as iphone OS still searching for stability you can't compare it to the legend like symbian, of course symbian is a aged OS but still pack a punch, android is a novice OS and heavily over rated, i hope Symbian will be back with the ^3.

I believe Android will r... moreThe almighty brand may still have the largest "smartphone" market share for quite sometime, not becasue the OS is good, but rather the fact it keeps "discounting" its handsets. My guess is wanting to use Symbian should be one of the last reasons for most who buy phones from the almighty brand.

The case is especially true for those S40 "smart" phones. Most users probably only use the voice / text functions. Last thing you can ask them is what Symbian is and what it can be done on the phone.

Even sometimes mid-range phones owners may not know what Symbian is all about. A while ago where I live I heard about the following:

                          - From a N73 user "I got this phone for the good cam, but why it hanged so often even after I pressed the end button"?

                          - From a 6060(?) user "Did I get this phone becuase I can run Powerpoint on the supersize screen? Oh, I didn't even know there is such feature.

Meanwhile, I'd bet most users of iOS or Android clearly know the reason they got such "smart" phones is to utilize the "smart" function by downloading various apps.

I believe Android will rule the smartphone market after a few years and then iOS and then maybe Symbian, I don't think Symbian actually has real potential, the only reason people would go for it would be the Nokia logo. Other than that it's no use and I think this might be a little cold feet for Nokia, I've also heard that Nokia's preparing another OS - MeeGo, which is going to change Symbian, I don't think the apps will be compatible between these two OS'es. So in other words we are saying goodbye Symbian. :) Even the most loyal Symbian sites are now closing down and switching their smartphones to Android. But of course, Nokia still has a pool of loyal customers who will be too slow or too ignorant to notice that. :)

HTC doesn't have its own OS, every one of thier 30 phones looks like eachother... and they still fall apart on you. They take out a full touch screen phone, the next new model has one button on it.. thats the only difference. wen HTC can master new technologies, then come here and talk about them otherwise step your A$$ back.
