Something new is always good ,not the way apple does it.
Moto has also get rid of that 3.5 port. Now the question arises why it is not from Apple?
Because,it is only one manufacturing company and cannot decide the worlds need.
It will be better if all the major manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo, Asus, Vivo ,Sony ,LG, Htc sit in a conference room and decide what to use in different types of ports.
This will simply adapters problem and produce less global waste.

Yes! there's a bit of electronics there to convert digital signal into analogue, so that we can hear it :)

What an ugly pair of headsets. Apple mooches off so much money , I guess they could at-least provide a decent headset instead of these cheap looking earphones.

Its one thing if all your purchases are through the apple app store and all of your music is from apple, meaning you are well invested into the apple network. But how is this good? You will only be able to use headphones that apple provides and if you want to use your own you will most likely have to buy an adapter.

Soon you will not be able to use your favorite headphones at all. Will need to purchase apple proprietary stuff. Want to use your own headphones? Buy an expensive port from apple.
