Videos of HTC Sense for Windows Phone 7 cause eyecandy overload

17 September, 2010
Microsoft won't allow UI mods on Windows Phone 7. That hasn't stopped HTC from bringing their trademarked Sense UI feel to WP7 though - instead of replacing the homescreen outright, they added...

$K, 22 Sep 2010Nothing is better dan the iphone..iphone is the best gaming... morewow that is quite a dumb statement. Just because little kids play with it doesnt mean us pros have to play with it as well. iPhone parts are similar to tons of phones out there. So what makes it better? Does it make it better for you to fit in the crowd? i guess so. iPhoney

I like Htc i have a desire but if all this lovely animations are going to slow down the phone and make it hard to have updates then i dont want it, i cant really moan about my updates to be honest i just dont get them as quick as the Nexus 1. according to the rules of Microsoft though all phones will have the same uniform and maybe WM7 might allow the phone comapnies to have a little hub, but it will not be allowed to take over the the running of the phone and the WM7 experience. personally i think it will be nice to get away from the grid system that most phones have now, i am a little bit bored of rows and rows of apps no matter how pretty the iphone makes it. the one thing i do like about what i have seen on WM7 is that everything you really need to know is on the home screen you dont need to go into something else allso i cant really think of another UI that looks like it or works like it. To all the people that hate Apple you really wouldnt be fussing and fighting and some of you even swearing if Apple didnt have the know how to make a smart phone for me i like them because they have given me choice that i wouldnt have otherwise. I love Android but one day the open system is going to start to become closed its not good for customers to waiting around for months for upgrades i mean i got 2.2 in August but other people only got it a few weeks ago and have the same device as me but are on a different network it just stupid. I personally cant wait to see what WM7 will be like my brother had a Zune and i thought it was great and if we in the UK get the Zune pass i will be very happy although i will not be buying another HTC unless they really can doing something about there battery power it is so awfull and to be honest i like the look of the Dell Lightning. can anyone tell me if they are going to have Youtube on WM7?

Steve Jobs, 19 Sep 2010MEH....you're just makin excuses iphone has set the standar... moreYou just got pwned by p8c4, bud. Everything he said is the truth, and you don't even have the facts to back up your own claim.

The fact of the matter is, the iOS is getting archaic especially when WM7 and Android 3 take over the market in the foreseeable future. So what if it started this touchscreen revolution? We can give credit to Apple for that, however being the first doesn't mean always being the best.

Remember Motorola way before? It was the pioneer of phones with its StarTac and RAZR, however after its prime years it almost died out due to incompetence and lack of R&D. Now it's realizing it has to change and it did with Android. Will Apple learn from this mistake, to experience a crash before realizing its errors? It's starting to milk the iPhone franchise and I know how this goes. Downhill.

Steve Jobs, 19 Sep 2010MEH....you're just makin excuses iphone has set the standar... moreYes, both Symbian and Winmo had thousands of apps available online before iPhone.

Also LG Prada massmarket version were already using both touchscreen and capacitive developed in 2006, released in Jan 2007, before iPhone.

                  http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_ke850_prada-1828.php

Apple even got sued by LG for ripping of their touchscreen massmarket design and screen.

Do you know what Steve Jobs favorite phone was in 2005-2007?? Check all his pictures from that time, it was the Nokia 7110, Which by the way is the father widgetbased touchscreens.

I have shown you 2 phones with tecnnology and OS that were on the market before the iPhone.

I emailed HTC and they fixed it within 8 days and i also got a 16BG Kingston MicroSD for free for the trouble.

My sister has alot of trouble with her iPhone 4, it almost cost her the job she had cause it was dropping calls, also the mic didn't work in speakerphone mode, so she emailed Apple support.

So instead of taking in her phone back and fix the hardware they told her she was holding it the wrong way. If that didn't work they told her to put a piece of electric plastic scotch tape on her brand new 800 dollar phone.

So she went back and returned the iPhone 4 and got the HTC desire. Then she called Apple support a bunch ***** half **** id*** fu***** ass*****.

Så yuu see we all have different experiences.

                        1. Looking at the OS, those animations are anything but smooth, I can see separate frames in there...And I will never buy a phone for hardware capabilities only (parallax and depth of field). For you all fans of hardware out there: what good does it makes hardware WITHOUT SOFTWARE TO MAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT? If the situation will be like in WM5/6, without a SINGLE UNIFIED Directx API to make advantage of all the 3d chipsets out there...the situation will be lost. I owned a HTC Touch Pro and there were about 3-4 3D games who could run on it. And after copying DLL's and so on, messing with registry. I say just wait for a year or so and see how many games/applications appear and how they will interact with the different WM7 phones.
                        2. HTC as a company for me means ZERO. I bought HTC Touch Pro one month after it's launch. Highest price on the market, without a contract. Three months I send them emails about the incredibly crappy GPS and they call me AFTER ONE YEAR! They did nothing in order to solve the issue (and believe me I am a regular on XDA) and the culmination of it...after one year (two after I buy the phone) they call me in order to rate how I was handled an year ago. The crappiest tech support ever. Now, I don't take sides, but after emailing Apple that I couldn't create an account with some credit cards I had, they solved the issue in two weeks.

People that buy Apple products just buy it so they can pull out their iPhone in front of people and show them that they are dumb enough to buy and grocely overpriced piece of iJunk.

Also that they know how to iTap, having something to talk about with other iSteves and that they either are a 14 year old girl, social poser, wannabe or a houewife with a chihuahua.

As is said before, if Apple somday were to lead the marketshare then we are one step away from having monkey and chimps come out of the jungle to take over the world.

I know for a fact the Android, Blackberry and Symbian users laugh at the typical stereotype that is a iPhone user.

And you still did not understand my previous comment on what is considered simple.

No wonder you use an iPhone.

Steve Jobs, 19 Sep 2010The way you criticise the simplicity of the iphone ui shows... moreSimplicity? More like dumbing down. I can compare the iOS as a shoddy console version of a great PC game, with limited freedom, lack of mods and other things that have made that particular game great.

The iOS is made simple so that it could cater to all kinds of people, including ones who are not oriented with smartphones and technology in general. However, that is also a disadvantage because Apple has made it too closed-platform (like a Mac) that experienced/advanced users cannot fully take advantage of. We're talking about people who are serious about maxing out the phone but couldn't because of the iOS' core architecture.

Now Android is the platform of choice for such users. We can customize everything down to its bare components, while even novice consumers can still pick it up and enjoy the vanilla OS. Are we not entitled to maximizing our experience in our products? Android gives us this opportunity, while the iOS does not.

Your windows phone 7,symbian are all struggling to have a very simple ui just like the iphone and up to now they still struggle and fail. Truth hurts.

Wasting time pressing a big bunch of iTaps for 10 min with cartoon icons just to read your updates and mail is not smart. Intelligent is when you get all you uppdates, mails, messages, weather, social tweets/facebook, stocks etc updated stright on the home screen as it happens in real time without having to press a button.

Like on Andriod, Symbian and Winmo. Now that is smart, what the iPhone is supposed to be i have no idea.

If iPhone someday heaven forbid leads the market share then people has gone dumb enough to be one step away from monkeys and chimps come out of forest to take over the world.
