Moto E3 unveiled: 5" upgrade indistinguishable from the Moto G4 Play

14 July, 2016
The Moto E3 is a big step up from the previous generation Moto E, but it's not clear how it's different from a rebadged Moto G4 Play.

Blackberry also changed to touchscreen. The Priv has keyboard, but still is a large phone and has no relation with previous blackberry phones like Bold 9780, 9990 etc. They tried to bring back the same design with Blackberry classic and that again was a fail.

Dasman, 14 Jul 2016Is that dual speakers?Hope so, but I don't think so. I think it will come with a single front firing speaker at bottom front alike motoG3,motoG3 turbo. But not like stereo speakers on Nexus6,Nexus6p and some phone's from HTC.

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2016Because such small screens are uncomfortable in nowadays Actually I prefer a smaller screen that will fit in my pocket.
So I look for something with good specs that is 4.6 in diagonal max.
                  Slim pickings these days.

I understand people complaining about the larger screen, but The Moto E was never intended to be a high-end phone.

What will the new version have over the previous? Apparently screen resolution, cameras (hopefully LED flashlight?)... And I truly hope for some more RAM. And obviously, a very competitive price.

                          AnonD-560178, 14 Jul 2016i think moto e 2nd gen has snapdragon 200.. Well actually the Moto E2 has a Snapdragon 410. There are 2 models. 3g model with Snapdragon 200. 4g with Snapdragon 410.

Ummmm i think we should not worry about size. What goes, comes back again.

Take example of Flipphones with physical keyboard. Samsung, LG and few others have released the phones with flip form and phy keyboard, that too at premium price. Blackberry too has never abondaned physical keyboard.

Similarly times would soon come for smaller screen phones ( and phones with physical keyboards)

Disappointed with Lenovo. Wanted something with the same form factor as the Moto X 2013. I, too, thought bezels would have decreased by now.

If the XT1662 (Moto X Play 2016????) doesn't fit the bill it looks like a LG G2 or Sony Xperia Z3/5 Compact are my only choices.

I think it's a worthy upgrade from Moto E 2nd Gen 2015. I think Snapdragon 410 does really well for the segment. Xioami and Lenovo devices offer the same processor at this price range. With stock android, you don't really need a great powered processor TBH. I hope the $100 version comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage in the least. I always thought that an ideal Moto E should be on part with a Redmi 2 Prime or even better.
