Lenovo Vibe A pushes the limits of how low-end a smartphone can be in 2016

14 July, 2016
Its spec sheet reads like one from quite a few years ago, but how well it sells might depend on pricing in the end.

Not worth, there has to be balance between spec & price. In regards to usability, this phone is sacrificing too much spec.

In my country you can get Haier 4G LTE phone with 1gb ram sd210 android 6.0 with just $50. Touch & battery suck (typical chinese phone) but for price & spec it's worth.

What these guys are talking about!!
In India, smartphone penetration is only 30%. With just 30% india is 2nd biggest smartphone market.. Just think how large it is with 30%!! Rest of the 70% have no money to buy smartphone and still using Samsung Guru and Nokia feature phones. If Lenovo launch Vibe A as cheapest 3g smartphone, it can capture atleast 20% of extra market share. Also, if those people likes the phone, they will upgrade to costlier lenovo phones in future. So guys, it's all about capturing market. And this device not gonna be launched in America or Europe

DantE O2, 14 Jul 2016even if they give it for free why would anyone pick it up??... moreI would. I presently have a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 with a single 1GHz A8 processor, 512MB RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 3.2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and 2500mAh battery.

Love Lenovo's high-end business laptops but this phone is woeful. It maybe targeted at low end low income but there is no point if it struggles for catch up when you do stuff. How frustrating. Even my old Nokia had more. oh dear, that is a very sad device.

hm, 14 Jul 2016I dont understand who buys this low-end stuff. Me,well I have a Lenovo a1000 which is the exact same phone except that it has 1gb of ram and 8gb storage and I bought it for only 60 euros so I am one if them
BTW when I bought I was 15 and it had just came out and I bought it with my money which I had saved for months.

                  (sorry for my bad English)

This kind of device is targeted at mostly low income earners. And there are a lot of them.

it better be the worlds cheapest phone!

even if they give it for free why would anyone pick it up???
lenovo also ruined the moto series camera quality.

Beats me weather Lenovo is deliberately attempting to spoil their name with such low, ridiculous specs?

This is why I wish Lenovo didn't buy Motorola. they've pulled a 4 dollar smartphone that won't even be 4 dollars, nor worth 4 dollars in this day and age.
