9570 is not the storm 3... the 'silent' refresh will probably stay storm 2 just like how they did a iphone 3g and 3gs model.
just update it a bit without changing it too much but with OS 6
storm 3 should see it coming with a new operating system altogether! at least thats what were led to believe. something totally different to OS 6
also anyone who says the torch is a fail, is blind. RIMM actually had a good quarter and to compare sales with iphone is ridiculous since the apple have only one new model, released once a year, on one carrier (us specifically) unlike RIM who has several models is other categories that would probably have people reconsider moving to a network just for a phone when thye can get a reasonable Blackberry on their current network. Overall, RIM sells more phones without gouging the consumer
the torch has done reasonably well on the one carrier and this will only get better once it releases worldwide. A failure, i think not. a failure to match other phones hardware wise maybe but again its not like the phone suffers from it.

Looks like RIM is really running out of ideas...where's the dual SIM and front camera? BBs are never in the touch category; and RIM should not adopt for the sake of adopting. This new storm is definitely going to be "stormed"...

I really do think the last truly good Blackberry's were the Curve 8900 (aka Javelin) and the Bold 9700. I bought the 8900 Curve when it first came out and it was a great phone, it really looked amazing, had everything but 3G which was a let down. I'm with T-Mobile and at that time they didn't have decent 3G coverage anyways. The Bold 9700 I bought for my brother and he loves it. It's just that they really haven't done anything new since then. I mean yeah other companies are cranking out copies of other models Samsung dose it all the time (I loved samsung phones don't get me wrong). The companies that are cranking out the copies are at least up to date with most of their specs. The new Tourch would have been great a year ago, but I got to play with it, and for a new phone it just isn't as good as the competition. But Blackberry's aren't multimedia powerhouses to begin with they never really were, the 8900 was the first phone that really made an effort.

The trend seems to be moving towards touch screen phones. I know personally, I did not choose a Blackberry because I wanted a larger screen that is a touch screen. The traditional Blackberrys have smaller screens because the keyboard takes up half the realestate on the front surface. RIM is simply responding to the trend in the market.

Blackberry must have seen the big surge for large screen touchscreen mobiles an did not want to miss out on the Big Boom ,so they have done the correct idea creating this mobile,so will sell well with the current Blackberry followers an attract more buyers on to there mobiles

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2010oh sh!t a lousy 5MP camera!!! at least make it 8MP as today... more8 mega pixel doesn't necessarily mean you have good quality pictures there are other things to consider like the lens used etc...look at the iphone 4 it has 5 megapixels and takes very great pictures for viewing on the phone or posting on social network sites like facebook and twitter and thats what people use cameras on their phone for and i doubt if there is a single person who will need to print the large (whole high res pic. Taken with his phone so havin 5 mp on a phone doesn't mean the phone is crap/outdated to be fair the new bb os looks very promising they have to come up with somethin special to wow the gadgets freaks who are the main consumers of touch screen phones. If they can't do that then they should stick to their old school full qwerty bar phones and leave the high end stuff to the big boys

No Dual SIM
No Slider QWERTY key pad .... they might as well close it down
Any good business phone must have this and if it also has
1) Stylus input also
2) Front facing camera .. wow
