AnonD-519188, 20 Jul 2016People who complain about slow updates in OEMs phones... Yo... moreU r right, someone give this man a cookie! Companies could save a lot effort and money if they stop making changes to Android Stock Os, this would ensure periodical updates and an smoother experience.

People who complain about slow updates in OEMs phones... You're the main problem!
Just stop buying phones from LG, Samsung, Sony etc....
Start buying clean phones like Nexus and then Motorola (Hopefully Lenovo won't ruin it)...

Only then OEMs will understand they are losing customers because of their terrible software and slow updates and start moving things forward faster...

But what if i download an apk from trusted source like apkmirror or something and then update it from google play store. Also sometimes we backup apps to reinstall them after a factory reset. What it will show.

Zack, 19 Jul 2016I sometimes feel Cyanogenmod group should take over Android... moreYep! Updates are very fast on the OPO, both companies had something special going on. Cyanogen Inc needs to forge more partnerships and officially support more devices than what's already listed on their site, with the OPO still being the best device on said list.

Reasons enough to slow things down. Especially since Samsung is or was the most successful licensee of Android. Then there's the fact that a lot of users (those that don't have a voice in here) find it too complicated that these Android-phones changes so much so quickly. Particularly in the (ugly) looks department.

Zack, 19 Jul 2016I sometimes feel Cyanogenmod group should take over Android... moreNobody would want to do it. CyanogenMod is just a project. No other oem would trust it, as they can steal data or anything. Also they would need more people for this to update all devices. It's just not possible. I am not saying that CM steals data, but it is not as secure as from original oem. But i used CM and still using, and its just a stock rom, happy using it.

Other OEMS just remakes stock android in an android skin. How dont u understand. Oems like samsung needs to do A LOT of work for their touchwizz just look how they differs. Also dont forget how much company like samsung has many different devices.

It's possibly something to enable companies running an MDM solution to run a report on the extent of side loaded applications among their user base. Presumably checking that before locking out sideloaded apps. Not that I know.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2016Not Google's faults...Blame the other OEMsI sometimes feel Cyanogenmod group should take over Android. Since once you install their Android ROM it always gets updated especially if your phone has a snapdragon SOC, if only more OEMs partnered with them like OnePlus did initially...

That way oems just need to release hardware drivers. Might be a good time for google to start charging for the Android OS. Cause the current Android update model is ridiculous for non-nexus devices!
