Samsung details Gear IconX headphones

Samsung's latest batch of smart fitness accessories - the Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX are still fresh on the market. And while the second generation smartband doesn't really need an introduction at this point, the Gear IconX could probably use one. Now retailing on six markets outside Korea and counting it seems like a good idea to explain to prospective buyers exactly what the EUR 230 headphones can offer.

    I never buy new tech stuff. This was the first time buying something completely untested. Well, I've learned my lesson. 315$ CAD is way overpaid for a gadget that runs out of battery that quick. Sorry folks, but don't put too much hope into this yet. They are almost there... but not quite, at least not at that price range. I gave it a week try and am definitely tired of spending my time plugging it everywhere.

The battery life is on par, but the sound quality is one of the best out there. Even if I switch to samsung, still I will use sony headphones/earphones :)

        Blacksparrow, 24 Jul 2016Kudos to one techy Pinoy out there. hehehe. Saw your gadget... moreNo all of Sony's products are up to par. Their earphones break easy after some 6 months. My MW-1 can last only 6 hours out of the original promised 9 hours for streaming audio.

        My SBH52 (two of them) have stayed 9 to 10 hours of streaming audio. I like the SBH-20 for its compact and simplicity. Still good for 5 hours audio streaming.

        But who wants to spend $200 for something that only can stream 1:30H per charge? That's not even enough for watching a 2-hour movie while in commute.

        Just so misleading. It just looks cool, but very impractical.

        I only get gadgets that work properly. I stayed away from Note.5 for its shortcomings.

              HI I just want to say if you have notice the Icon X are really small bluetooth ear buds and battery life they offer is pretty normal on this kind of devices, remember this are completely wireless the only battery they have access to is built in that little space the sony sbh52 Earphone is a lot bigger so is not really smart to compare the battery that can be included on that ear phone that the one that can be included in the Icon X earbuds. if you want something with better battery life but som lg pro headset or other bluetooth devices like that one,.

                Mashable tells us that you can get 3:30H with playing music from the built-in 4GB storage, and confirms that streaming music from your phone is only 1:30H. http://youtu.be/CgPzm4XG7Ig

                The only thing they mention in stores is the 3.8H of time it's supposedly "streaming" and has a total 11H usage time with the cradle. That's false advertisement there. Fooling people into thinking that 3.8 hours is the actual streaming music from your phone.

                $199 is not worth for this thing. Designed only for casual workouts, not for the entire day. I'd like to listen to my Spotify for more than 1:30H.

                  Please do not buy! I bought it n im kinda regret n disappointed with the sound quality with this kind of price! N changing the ear piece sleeves is not easy, i accidentally ripped off one of it! Arghhh...

                    According to the shop's specs of the IconX, it can go up to 3.8 hours of streaming audio, another 7+ hours worth from the charging cradle.

                    Mediocre usage times per charge.

                      It has an OLED display, FM radio, a loud speaker, can connect to two devices simultaneously.

                      I repeat, I can listen to MORE than 10 hours hooked on internet radio. Where have you been? I've been doing this since I had my first Walkman. Now we have tons of audio books,eBooks that can be read by text-to-voice, researches in PDFs that can be read aloud by your device, audio of video, all being streamed to tiny wireless earphones.

                      And I still have excellent hearing, thank you very much.

                        Nobody can stream music for 10 hours to the headphone continuously and watch videos, and listen audio books within 24hours. Don't lie!

                          3 hours continuous (means UNINTERRUPTED, accumulated is different)) use of head phones is not even advised by EENT doctors. After use for a few minutes, put it in the case and it will automatically charge as long as the case is fully charged as well.

                            All is nice and dandy, but for this price tag they should have noise cancellation. Only then would they be worth it.

                              Samsung never create decent cans. Audio quality isn't something that brought into the mission of this product. But I'm saluting for the features being offered.

                                Samsung IconX CAN run 3 hours CONTINUOUSLY on a charge.

                                Key word - can.

                                It CAN be ACCUMULATED multiple different times to reach the maximum running time of a single charge for those audio streams, weather for watching, internet radio, calls, or audio book. Duh. Doesn't mean I do continuous listening to music. There are other content that has audio, you know.

You can use the same BT earpiece for any audio out from your phone, be it music, audiobook, video, calls. You do not need any special sort of degree to know this.

                                        Audiobooks I listen to when commuting about. Internet music is awesome too. Same BT earpiece I use for gaming or watching with my laptop. 3 hours of use in early morning with commute and calls, working alone with a project or two with 4-6 hours while listening to music, would leave me 1-2 hour or less early evening. That's the warning beep for low charge happens - switch to second BT till I get home from my commute. Duh.

                                        All happen within 16 hours of my daily routine outside the house, doing my work, and going to sites. The second one will not reach the low battery stage. Sometimes I can use just one charge for the day.

                                        No worries about needing to charge on the go with a powerbank. Also for my Note 3 with a 10,000mAh extended battery. Makes more sense than having to carry an extra phone (like you). As I said before, I have a little collection of Sony Bluetooth earpieces that I actually cycle use to keep them highly optimized with their battery. http://flic.kr/p/yokyHG

                                        They cost a fraction of the IconX, and perform up to more than 3 times if I need them to.
