Zack, 22 Jul 2016No HBM 2?Pascal was in design specification phase long before any memory supplier (Samsung/Hynix) could have given a workable visibility for HBM2 availability so the smart strategy is to go with what you can work with for consumer space i.e GDDR5/X

P100 is not coming to consumer market. It probably doesn't even have ROPs to save dies space as the per SM CUDA count, warp, register files size, cache are also different to GP10X series. P100 is a high IPC throughput design. GP10X are very similar to Maxwell with high frequency exploits to boost the performance.
Think of the consumer Pascal like Intel's tick, while the P100 is like a Tock and a Tick combined. Consumer space will get a real Tock in the next generation. AMD is the only one in the consumer space with a proper Tock and a Tick in RX 480. It's just that AMD have targeted the mainstream markets first.

Considering the fact that big maxwell GM200 was a titan x already than what the GP100 will be? But, as a matter of fact the titan x (pascal) is officially GP102, then it seems that nvidia is cooking something big out of GP100.
I think that the GP100 will be used in 1080ti or dual GPU flagship as titan z based on kepler was last dual GPU released by nvidia and no dual GPU solution for maxwell was developed. If 1080ti is based on GP100 then it is clear as day that nvidia is separating the consumer and HPC market.
But, another possibility is that the nvidia won't release any consumer GP100 product at all.
