Well I've not gotten the phone yet. But judging from it's status here in Nigeria, it's becoming as popular as Andriod Phones. Kinda believe that as andriod gradually rose and overtook symbian, so is MS.

I use a Lumia 650 as my only phone, and my experience has been quite positive overall. The phone's performance with Windows 10 mobile is quite smooth, and it's a very light, good looking phone. I haven't had any problems with the beautiful OLED display on mine. I also like the fact that Windows 10 Mobile gets automatic security, performance and feature updates from Microsoft every month. I've also found the battery life to be quite acceptable. I normally only have to charge it up once a day (over night), and sometimes even less than that if I've used it less than normal.

Although 1 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 CPU are fairly modest specs, and the performance of an Android phone with those specs might not be very smooth, I find the Lumia 650 performs quite well for all the tasks that an average user like myself uses their smartphone for. It's not a phone for people who want to play games with the most cutting edge 3D graphics (for a smartphone) for hours on end, but the performance is still fine for the vast majority of games. Windows Phone (now Windows 10 Mobile) has always been able to perform better than Android on more modest hardware, so I wouldn't dismiss the Lumia 650 just based on the CPU. Not needing a high-clocked CPU and tons of RAM is one of the reasons the phone can be so thin and light while still getting decent battery life out of a slim 2000 ma battery.

Arthur Ho, 25 Jul 2016Hm..... I don't even know where should I start this, but as... moreForgive my behavior I truly understand your point but I've had bad experience with windows and Lumia weakness-limitations so to avoid any bad feature situation to the new users who never owned WMP before we need to protect them by telling the truth or through our experiences. I agree with you when you said ''isn't that bad as people thing'' but we need to define in which users could be addressed at this point only the below standard users can enjoy such kind of devices in some way.
          Best regards

Arthur Ho, 25 Jul 2016Well, mine is given by my company for our secondary uses. B... moreYou could not even call it 'disappoint', it is DESPAIR.

If MS line of thinking is like, 'Most of the cost is going down to WP R&D' to justify the price, then that's a CHECKMATE, not even a wrong move at this point.

When u are facing Android, especially at US$ 150-$200, there are TONS of mid-ranger rigs which equipped with slightly high-end SoC & bigger RAM (mostly 2GB). In this case, as an UNDERDOG, MS should rethink before releasing a rig to public, both the price, the upside and the downside of this rigs. After all things considered, that's when u realized that HUGE margin of profit is IMPOSSIBLE for underdog. Try to push their luck, see what happens to MS? Low sales rate which means they are going RED this semester. And this happens ever since they bought Nokia, once-market-leader manufacturer that arrogantly said that their 'INVISIBLE' Symbian ecosystem won't get shaken by a mere newbie called ANDROID OS powered by Google.
See what this means? arrogance always be the downfall of humanity, and next in line is MICROSOFT

But let me repeat my self, I do understand it is not the best value phone out there, but at least so far I am quite satisfied with it.

I don't even know where should I start this, but as I said earlier, this is just my opinion, and I had stated clearly, I know someone who pretty is screw up experience with their Windows Phones.

But tell me to shut up and say I am a troll just because I share my honest opinion is kinda confuse for me. Yes, Lumia 650 was pricey compare to any other Android phones out there (Compare to my Redmi 2). But what I was just trying to say here that Lumia 650 is not that bad as what people think.

Let me repeat again, it is bad, BUT NOT THAT BAD. That it.

You know what? You just got robbed of ur money buying shitty rig but still be IMPRESSED by the 'never lag' and 'well support FEW games'? oh come on...

If u are like me who got SUPER DEAL to buy an [OLD] windows phone named Huawei W1 just for US$23 in 2014, then u might say so, but SnapDragon 212 SoC is downright CRAP, Adreno 304 is an UPGRADE version of CRAPPY Adreno 2xx, which means DOUBLE CRAP. The only saving lines are that this rig got 5 inchi OLED 720p with Gorilla Glass 3, wide range of LTE support, and a 1GB of RAM to prevent it from LAGGING and u smashing the rig to the wall!

The key words of making WP seems seamless with no apparent lagging is BIGGER RAM. Like I said before, I bought Huawei W1 in 2014 with 512 RAM. It work FLAWLESS & no lag until I install 5-10 apps, not even game apps, and... VOILA! it works as crap as Android can be with LOW RAM.

The point is, MICROSOFT wants to build an OS that can run seamless with no apparent lag on low-cost device, so that they can get AS MUCH PROFIT AS POSSIBLE, just like Apple did.
When it first released, it got the price tag of US$199, see what I mean by MS greedy?

Mozilla actually tried to work on the same line of thinking as MS when they introduced their Firefox OS phone, but failed miserably. The difference is, MS is to gain as much profit as possible, while Mozilla is to make even low-salary labors in developing countries can get in touch with internet, in this case, using Mozilla products (Firefox, thunderbird, etc).

FYI, in my country, this kind of device just priced $46 - $60 for Android-powered rigs.

Snapdragon 210/212, 1GB RAM &16GB ROM, Dolby/DTS audio & VoLTE support, 2000mAh battery, sounds like more promising specs & price than Lumia 650, no?

Well if it was free then I could have considered nd keep it as a dummy! Why is it Nokia taking time to rise from d ashes?! Its phone was rumored a long time ago. Still waiting!

For anyone who hating it, here are some honest opinion for someone who are using it as a secondary phone, (Noted:- SECONDARY).

Probably everyone would think it processor would be very weak and it will be very slow and sluggish for sure. But to my surprise, not only it never lag, it even well support for few games such as Asphalt 8. (I know some may say it's not a big deal, but through out my days of using few Android phone which is powered by Snapdragon 400+, it will lag when I am playing Asphalt 8.)

And the metal build quality is excellence, plus it is very light. Other than the battery life, which is kinda disappointed for me, I would say I will recommend to anyone who like to purchase a secondary phone but are not looking into gaming or any hardcore task.

However these are my opinion, I know few person who really face difficulty and disappoint but it's performance. Still, these are just mine personal opinion. :)
