I hope they will bring at least better aperture, screen res fhd\qhd\uhd with different sizes like mini compact ultra &so on and if thick then at least with big battery. Premium in every size would be also good, if they want to compete with S8, iphone,... next leap is probably then after an year. Phones like flagships cannot be average forever, if now will out some xxxx they may as well sell their business. Hope is still there, even if with size of dot.

The event will be on September 1st but the phone will be released after 4-5 months later !!
During this I'm pretty sure that Samsung, HTC, Apple and other competitors will announce and release their flagship devices which will be maybe a step ahead from Sony flagship device ( both spec. and price ).
That's why Sony mobile division will die soon unless they make change in this matter.

Go on, Sony! Prove to us that Samsung and Apple are both nowhere near as good as your products. My expectation from the phone that you will unveil this IFA 2016:
-5.5" UHD Triluminos LCD display, 800+ ppi density
-4,000 - 5,000 mAh battery capacity
-Dual front-facing Hi-Res stereo speakers
-LDAC and Hi-Res audio support
-NFC (at the back of course)
-SnapDragon 820, Adreno 530, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable up to 2 TB
-Better 23 megapixel rear camera f2.0 or f1.0, OIS-supported, Predictive Hybrid AutoFocus, dual LED Flash (which seems to be happening with the leaked Sony flagship phone), 4K recording @30fps or @60fps
-13 megapixel front camera, f2.0 or f1.0, OIS-supported, dual LED Flash, 4K recording @30fps or @60fps
-IP68 certified waterproof and dustproof
Not just the hardware, itself. Everything will lie down on great optimization
Here are the things needed for their software to be fixed:
-Modern UI (their old UI looks like from Retro especially the camera icon which needs a new look)
-Stop the gimmicky features like the "pull down homescreen to search" and return back the other useful ones like "app overlay" or "dual window"
-Camera processing still needs more optimization (overexposure on the X series is just ridiculous)
-Battery management can be better
And if Sony will do these things, they can surely outclass Samsung and Apple and all other competitors easily. Not to mention the better marketing and service. I am barely seeing any Sony advertisements in my country. Even Huawei does more ads than Samsung does. Though, their old flagship Xperia Z5 is still presented in a lot of market stores

Most sony products now are inferior and more expensive than the competition. I love my Z3, my BDS home theater, my Bravia TV and my vaio but the only sony product I would consider buying now is the a6000 camera. I hope eventually they will be great again but for now they have dropped the ball.
