Rumor says Sony Xperia F8331 will be launched as Xperia XR

Same here. I still have my xz2 but it will be my last xperia unless they impress my with something new: price, screen, camera, RAM, or even battery! the xz2 is impressive regarding battery life. However after the zx3 all their phones became rubbish in this regard.

This XR is no diff... moreI feel you, I'm still using Xperia ZL because it was beautifully designed even though they put the front cam at the most ridiculous place ever. I'm totally agree with your opinion on their overpriced phones, I mean their phone lacks of features we actually need to be in that price group even their so called mid-ranger phones are at the same price with flagship phones from chinese company like Meizu or Xiaomi. I'm totally disappointed but still keep my faith with them until this news came. This phone will flop big time, no question about that. Maybe, it's time to move on to another brand.

        Another also-ran ho-hum phone from SONY's brilliant engineering and marketing people. Will it release in the USA, the world's largest and most affluent marketplace? Probably not. Will the US model (if it is released here) have a fingerprint scanner? Probably not. Will it have at least 4GB RAM? No. Will it be loaded with the usual bloat? Yes. Will it be waterproof? Maybe. Will it be loaded with worthless gimmicks and tricks, such as 4K video recording, PlayStation remote control, dinosaurs in the picture? Most likely, yes to all.
        SONY, what's the point in bringing out more junk nobody wants? Give us the phone we want and it will sell. You have the big name, now give us the phone to match. And price it to sell, advertise it everywhere, release it everywhere, and back it up with world-class customer support. Otherwise, prepare to fail....again.

          Here comes another loser from SONY. This XR is no different from the ho-hum X-series already released, and already flopping. Same ho-hum phone in different clothes. Once again, SONY insists on bringing a knife to a gunfight. No wonder they are getting killed against Apple and Samsung. They simply refuse to give us the smartphone we want. SONY keeps trying to make us choke down their expensive junk. They keep trying to TELL us what we want, instead of listening to their customers.

          By now, SONY should have moved on to at least 4GB RAM a long time ago, maybe even 6GB to be the industry leader, but here they are still selling only 3GB in their over-priced high-end phones. Their camera is still not at the top of the game. And the SD820 is now old news and still has overheating problems. The screen is still not bright and clear enough. Why not gives us a super bright OLED display? And the battery is just not competitive.

          This new XR phone is OK if priced at around $349, but at SONY's price it will never succeed against Apple and Samsung. It won't even make a dent or even appear as a blip on the radar. Nobody will pay attention to it. At SONY's extremely high price point this new phone should be absolutely top-of-the-line in every single metric with zero compromises and zero excuses. But it's not. It's just not there yet. And SONY why do you insist on loading up your phones with junk bloat...hello! we don't want your bloat. Finally, your phones cost too much because you include too many worthless features nobody cares about, such as 4K video recording which doesn't even work because the SD820 still overheats, PlayStation remote control, and dinosaurs in the picture.

          SONY needs to give us the world's best phone. Period. Then advertise the hell out of it in print, TV and internet media, price it to sell, back it up with world class customer support (something SONY knows nothing about), and then release it world-wide and stop ignoring the USA which is the world's biggest and most affluent marketplace. Why do you keep pushing your over-priced also-ran phones in 3rd world countries like India where most people cannot even afford to buy a loaf of bread?

          I don't own anything Apple makes, but they are very successful because they do the important things right. They make great products, market them properly, and back them up with the best support in the business. Open your eyes SONY.

          Who is running SONY anyway? Hello! Is anybody home? Listen to your customers, please. I used to be a big big fan of everything SONY, but not so much anymore, like millions of other people I suspect.
