Post that when Tegra-ready phones launch on its own section.

I played with the Nokia N8 last week. A Nokia rep visited my store with a complete working model, although it wasn't final software. Silver unit.

It was nice. You can have the default Nokia style front screen or an icon based fronbt screen like an iPhone. Good phone. Cheaper than I expected it to be at around £420 GBP unit price.

I like the USB mode on it where it can read external drives and play the content and it has mini HDMI out with all the cables included.

One thing I didn't like is that it had too many "sticky out bits". It wasn't a flush design and the styling of the phone isn't too great.

Software-wise it seems solid. But as with all Symbian phones, the test is after 6 months of use - how will it hold up then?

On the internet are circulating rumours about "superphones" with the Tegra 2 chip, Full HD (1080p) recording, 3D screens, to appear at the beginning of next year. GSMArena, could you please investigate these rumours?

Jef, 30 Sep 2010Free navigation without the charge of data ?Well, if you make a difference between the cost of a N8 and a SGS with full navigation solution costing about 30 euro, you can say SGS with "paid" navigation is still cheaper. If you are for "free" satnav, better take a Samsung Wave.

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2010of corz there will be head to head N8 vs iphone4!yeah sure nd we already know the result
n8 will win camera wise nd some tiny miny features
nd iphone will win overall in every aspect...its a well balanced phone nothing more nothing less like top of the class build quality, display, snappy non laggy iOS,a decent 5mp camera, huge appp store ,facetime nd last but not the least JAILBREAKING..
BUT that doesn't mean n8 is crap it will be stupidity to think that..

i have used a fully working nokia n8 wich a nokia rep gave me to try and i was NOT impressed by it the screen resolution was very low and it could only fit maximum 4 things on it at any one time. the responce rate for the screen was very slow and it was very slow switching between the diffrent opptions in the symbian software. yeh the camera was very good but when i sent it to my phone via bluetooth the quality of the picture droped right off so it must have a enhance built in to it. the phone felt reli nice in my hands but the screen was not good at all but in my yees the synbian software let it down majorly its only any good for battry life the phone is suppose to be a smart fone but it did not apear to have push email on it, so in my eyes it dose not come under the smartphone catogory...... major fail in my eyes this phone will not take off too good i am afraid

is not nice to report someone who makes fun of the N8 camera. It's really funny how someone can think this N8 camera can be compared with iPhone 4.

I too await the official review from GSMArena on this phone. At least they are fair and balanced. I almost never make a purchase unless you guys give it the thumbs up. After the N97 I'll wait and see before rushing out to purchase. I sincerely hope that Nokia is bringing a true competitor in the smartphone space...that would be good for everyone.
