HTC Q2 results show a 27% boost in revenue, still at a loss

News headline misses the real math.
Q2 2015 made $ 1.07 billion at a operating loss of $ 5.14 million whereas Q2 2016 does not even reach $ 600 million at a loss of $ 132 million. This means a 44% revenue fall. Q1 went down 64%.
Honestly, HTC is broke and probably will not survive 2017.

htc is the one of the best mobile phone brand. because design technology and ending. but htc not triying race with onether brands. onether brands use colurfull menu and beutifully themes for there brands and make many many type models. example for huawei not made one type one style mobile phones
and time to time change their style. onether one style mobile phones like oppo and apple make so lookig great phones old one to new one to change their featurs and look. but htc not thinking of this features. the look all the brands same type and old style. look 2010 to 2016 mobile phones. all the like same type and same look. now the phone industry have a big race. new brands xiomi oppo lenovo zte have best edition and great look. and htc also following apple iphone. htc own there tradmark and their original signature. all time not sucses iphone following

South Africa has the worse HTC distributors. The device is still not available!!!!!!!! You can however buy it from Orange SA for the past 3 months already. Shame on HTC for allowing this.

Well no point in crying what htc did first and last, the point is just that whatever it is doing, it is keep on failing because of many other factors as well. As i told you, the company is so small that it can break down by even a burp coming from the market.

htc 10 is best flagship this year. people argue it's super lcd5 ... i have it and it's good. actually even better than s7's oled in some ways(color reproduction which is main purpose of a display-and sunlight view is very good too... )

Surprisingly so many brainwashed HTC fanboys here and still try to argue HTC is the best, of coz it should be the worst.
When you know a flagship is going to launch in next quarter, the sales of previous quarter normally will lower as many people will adopt a wait and see strategy. It is a typical HTC marketing tricks to say sales is improving in 2nd quarter.
Yet, HTC 2nd quarter sales is going down for 4 to 5 straight years when compared to the 2nd quarter of previous year. So this means the sales of its ultra crap pixel and purple tint camera m7 is worse than one X, the same rubbish camera m8 is selling worse than m7, the well known poor m9 is selling worse than m8, the pink tint display dead wifi HTC 10 is selling worse than the already crap m9.
If you want high end, people will go Samsung and LG, if want a bargain pay, people will buy xiaomi, meizu, oneplus,zte and other Chinese brands. Why I have pay flagship price but got a phone worse than those Chinese brands. :)

I dont know whats the problem with commenters here, when they have nothing concrete to say, they start calling the other one silly, fool and many other names.
Well htc is a very small company if you compare it with the other two companies at loss i.e.LG & Sony (while Sony recovered this quarter making a profit of some million dollars). If something bad happens with LG or Sony, they know well how to survive by cutting off some of their divisions and reducing R&D expenses etc. while htc focuses mainly on mobile and tablets, if they fall, they wont be having anything else to hold onto lol.

HTC's loss is due to it losing it's reputation when it failed with the EVO 3D and HTC One X iterations.
Since then it's phones (camera aside) have been brilliant, the fact that they're losing less means they're on the up.
If they continue with this line and the quality that they're using for build and OS then i have no doubt that they'll succeed.

Have the M10 which is a beast of a device, looks sublime and easily better than sammy and LG's offerings, imho.
As for the Vive, as brilliant as it is, it's just too expensive to merit a purchase.
If it was cheaper (maybe just sell the headset?) then i'd invest, but anything over £400 is too much, especially seeing as you can get a top end 2k monitor for that price range.

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2016Delusions, delusions, delusions. :)No delusions. Check them out so store. I did for months. In the look and feel department. I almost went for the powerful 10 but didn't like the sharp glass to metal edge. The A9 is buttery smooth. Love HTC.
