I would really appreciate this. But I think it would be even better and cheaper for Apple to take the currently available 4GB chips

The real fact is if u charged the buyer this price u got to give the worthiness packages to them. Realistically an iphone 6s 16gb are same price with the mighty galaxy note7. Wake up apple, people are not stupid.

Used to be an Android/Nexus user until i bought a slightly used 64gb Jailbroken 6S from Swappa.. Gah!! Crazy Cydia UI customization with A9 performance i love it!! Don't miss Android at all, good times on XDA though lol..

2. you can't be serious when you state that xiaomi is high end android...nothing Chinese is high end, not any smartphone, not any car, nor tv, nor any home appliance, NO chinese brand of anything is considered high end...maybe it will in the futere, but not now.
It is blasphemy to compare any Chinese xiaomi with apple, it would be blasphemy to compare any chinese brand with samsung or htc or lg or sony or motorola.
3. I'm no apple fun boy...assumption is mother of all fuck-ups, and you assumed.
My last iphone was iphone 4, after it htc sensation, htc sensation xl with beats, htc one x, sg note 2, sg note 3, sg note 4...and now sg s7 flat....so you assumed wrong.
thing is that I have respect for other oem's like apple since they've been around for many years and they made some great products, I yet don't have any respect for chinese brands since they copy everything, they pop like mushrooms (vivo oppo xiaomi meizu...etc) and flood the market with brands and copied products. and yes...apple is a brand name, samsung is a brand name, sony is a brand name and you compare it to xiaomi WTF...
people buy brand names and people like brand names...it is same with cars, with watches, clothing, shoes...etc
In the end...judging by your comment I guess maybe I could be your father...since I'm 40...
Check with your mother...just to be on the safe side...

Yes Android on the whole might have need for more,.. my guess is iPhones would be pretty happy around 1.5gb mark,.. that would be more than enough legs for most users.
If everyones phones have too much spec, and are replaced too often, it is the world that suffers.
Bragging just isn't worth it.
Now; lets talk reality!
3gb on an android device with crazy high res screen (eg my note 4) and a great graphics chip might have nuts headroom for a game with crazy textures. I don't know if many such games exist. I know I haven't any of them.
Android on 512mb is almost happy... 1gb, certainly.
2gb allows the system to cache programs into the available ram,.. generally sitting around 1.8gb
Leaves enough memory for something to load, and then drop other unnecesary stuff from ram,.. to leave some available.
As google/android don't tell manufacturers what spec chips to place in their devices, slower storage chips might benefit from an arrangement where frequently used applications are 'pre-loaded'. More memory only helps if it is needed. Even my 3gb Note 4 (2014) has not gone above 2Gb used, and if so, it was brief (a few seconds).
If the phone had 2Gb of ram it wouldn't then, or today, have changed my buying it.
Now, Apple.... control over the chipset, the A9 has a crazy fast bus. (My A9X I write this from is greater than 50Gb per second, which alleviates dropping level three cache), the A9 had half that bus but doesn't render 5.6million pixels from a top tier video chip that shares the bandwidth....
Assuming they don't suddenly go backwards in chipset design (nothing in the companies history suggests they would),.. a new phone, with 2Gb of ram will,be fine... and given they load from superfast storage, it truly wouldn't matter.
If a usage scenario had to keep one program loaded in ram that needed more than this (the first Crysis used a whole 2Gb and allowed the whole island to load into ram at once), there might be an issue.. but a phone doesn't load >2gb spreadsheets,.. and if so, then an iPhone presently might not do it... fair enough!
Yes the system needs a base working set,.. but superfast storage on a wide bus to fast ram sufficient for a users need is 'the right amount'.

yeah yeah....it will have...by 2025! until then you have to buy ijunk 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and then, when aiple have enought profit to give all employes a lambo they will "offer" 3GB variant - ops, i say offer?! meh, aiple dont offer nothing to nobody!!!! - you have to pay...A LOT!

3GB and 4GB is enough if the performance is way better the older gen RAM chip. Keep in mind that bigger number of capacity is always better than lower number capacity if the speed can't keep up.
