Having used one of these phones, I find the interface stunning. It is exceptionally clean, simple to navigate and very easy to use. It is reminiscent of modern danish design. I find it very responsive, intuitive and different.
I wish people would recognize how boring the 4x4 icon format is..
It's too bad people are dissing it without even seeing it in person.

Having used one in person today for an extended period i can say the ui is indeed extremely drab,sterile is a word that comes to mind. Its a strange awful block systems,its hard to describe,its like a file manager app which was transformed into a phone ui

LG E900 is unbelievable ..very good.
Omnia7 ...it seems to be iphone of apple. it's not UNIQUE!

I think so far, not many people notice common flaws of WP7. By the way, I am supporter of Microsoft. I own Benq P50 (crap), O2 Zinc (crap), Samsung i870 (good).
The OS/accelerometer is not performing correctly. (1) Applications cannot seem to switch fast enough. (2) When placing from standing (portrait/landscape) to flat on surface seems to result in self-switching. (3) Application will startup in wrong orientation - seems to remember previous orientation before shutting and upon startup didn't get current orientation.
Though using capacitive screen, touch not as sensitive OR application scroll excessively too much. ALL THIS IS DUE TO Operating System design - I think. The OS is the key to interpreting hardware signals sending messages to applications.
Yes, design can be classify as boring. But it does look clean and sleek. Live tiles are better than simple icons.

I've loved this OS since I first saw it. It's based of the Zune HD in a way, which I've always thought was way better then anything I've ever used, weather it be another MP3 player or the iPods/Touch. The multimedia aspsect if the OS is done right has the potential to down right crush everything else on the market right now. I think what is really going be the big do or die for the WP7 platform is the devices it's paired with. There is a lot of potential for something really amazing but, if the hardware isn't up to snuff then it'll fail. But it looks like with Omnia 7 that won't be an issue. I can't wait for it be announced and we really get to see what these devices are packing.

Looking at the gui I can not think else but "old fashioned". It would be a hit in the 60' when sleek lines and strong forms where common.
I think windows for phones is end of story.
As a OS it's not that bad but has never come to maturity nor has it the fast update cycles of a Android. Windows7 needs way to much power to become alive (according to the requirements MS states), it's biggest plus seems to be power consumption (power management?). My current WinMo 6.5 phone lasts for day's when just automatically updating weather and email every 30 minutes, adding about 10 call's a day.
The fact that MS has forbidden phone manufacturers to add nice looking gui'on top of what looks like my toolbox really makes me re-think if my new phone will be a WinMo or a Android. MS is followings Apples lead and I think it's a dumb move. the biggest attraction of a OS is that people can play with it, change the look and feel without compromising the structural integrity. WinMo 6.xx was the perfect platform for that. Most of times stable and adaptable.
For me it's bye bye MS, hello Android.

can some explain to me how so many people can say this is going to fail before its even out. Granted Microsoft have a up hill battle to put this phone across.
All what part of Apples OS is copying?

on my opinion based on the video
-snapy interface(can't see any log)
-ugly UI(seriously,anyone sees the UI is beautiful?)
-unique interface(based on android and IOS, WM7 interface is kinda different and needs further experince to get used)
-since its microsoft, integration with microsoft OS is simple(lets face it, large percentage of PC OS is microsoft)
lets see once its out if it will make or break for microsoft in mobile OS
