sa11oum, 06 Aug 2016Now my jailbreak is as good as dead when I'm forced to rest... moreim a JAILBREAK lover too, i JAILBROKE my iPhone DAY ONE on iOS 9.0.2 and i JAILBROKE iOS 9.3.3 on day one when the JAILBREK available trust me i was WAITING on iOS 9.3 TO GET A JAILBREAK . i updated my iPhone when JAILBREAK was available.
but APPLE just patched it with a new update. i was pissed too .. but think
APPLE is doing thire part correct. they patching these exploids because our own security, just imagine if this exploid discovered by BLACKHAT hackers they WOULD use this for BAD. your personal info, NUDE PICS bak details.. all will be gone in metter of seconds. i saw one of the iPhone user's $1000 was deducted from his bank account.

AnonD-135543, 05 Aug 2016What's your point?????????Just how awesome, and more reliable and user friendly mobile platforms are over their desktop counterparts.
There is still some way to go before we get from them what they need to deliver,.. but that during the typical lifespan of these 'consumption devices'; we see leaps and bounds of improvements.
The gap is minimising.
In fact, we could argue that winphone has made the gap practically nil (continuum, is it?).
What we buy, certainly isn't what we get left with... Android and iOS making massive improvements.
In this thread specifically; good on a jailbreak team for helping them iron out an issue.
Maybe having seen iOS 10(developers build was somewhat unencrypted kernal), they realised they didn't need that memory leak anymore for exploits,and being fans of the platform, had that memory leak ironed out.
Awesome when everyone improves the product.
Android being based off linux comes from a 'peer review' community where everyone improves the product. Kind of makes linux one of the best operating systems on the planet.
All the different variations of it stop it from having a significant 'recognition' as the excellent platform that it is(mint and ubuntu being some of the more recognisable; but familiar names like fedora and debian and.... (etc etc) distrowatch webpage is a great starting point)
Makes sense; the whole tech community evaluating code and ensuring it is the best it can be, has to be better than a walled garden of programers (microsoft as an example) trying to keep themselves secure from potentially the whole world....
If I wasn't clear, or 'pointiful', I do apologise. I am exhausted. Been a busy week for me and I come here to offline. As I am not a professional (paid) journalist here I never reread or edit what I type. Typical case of 'you get what you pay for' ;-)

What a collaboration; a jailbreak team reveals a hole, and removes the ability to jailbreak, brilliant.
Whilst I like getting regular security updates, being on iOS10 prereleases, I miss this one.
Really brings to light the fact that my $1400(australian) flagship android is still on january security updates.
For people who think I am bashing, I am not.
My carrier states they are held to all sorts of difficulties on Android and it requires much 'to'ing and 'fro'ing in order for their 'branded' firmwares to be confirmed. Highlights the benefit of a unified hardware/software platform.
Nexus branded devices really are one ofmthe best ways forward.
I look forward to Android creating a methodology where security fixes can be pushed independantly to android rollouts. It surprises me this isn't the case. And I am too tired to look into this right now.
Anyhow, I get marshmallow on the 12th of this month, and july security updates, which, funnily enough is the day the carrier will launch the replacement model (or at least preorders for it).
Insert frowny face here.
iOS 9.3.3 was my last experience on 9 releases, and each increment really added something.
Being my first ever iOS experiences, I was impressed that every update, frequently coming, was refining the user experience.
Sure I was buying new toys and 'latest platform', but I noticed the updates were across all devices and added wherever they could.
Knowing that iOS 10 finally puts 3D touch to use (a lot of users saying it is now in no way a gimmick), Apple have given me hope that things maintain this momentum.
Vs my Android experience, which was the complete reverse (newer updates and platforms breaking and removing much functionality), it has been a refreshing 'computing' experience.
I do hope when I get Marshmallow on my phone, that features out of the box get restored.. and being the second major update in the life of my device, I acknowledge this might be my last chance for this to happen, or have to run a custom mod and hope the user community have a correct setup (radio files etc) for my region.
Vs Windows 10 (desktop pc) both Android and iOS have proven vastly more reliable as platforms for computing.
It is strange how quickly the computer scene changes.
Anyhow, good work Apple
